Q: I hear that your incorporating handfasting into your ceremony. What is it?
A: Handfasting is a Celtic custom that was used to quickly marry a couple when no clergymen were available. We both like the idea of it and look forward to having it in our ceremony.

Q: I also heard that you might jump a broom. Huh?
A: Broom-jumping is an African tradition that was brought over through the slave trade. My mom really wanted us to jump the broom, but she never said that it couldn't be a Nimbus 2000 ;)

Q: I received my Save The Date card- are you having a Scottish theme?
A: We're having a Scottish, Irish, Sci-Fi, Vintage theme. We're basically taking everything that we love and throwing it together. I'm calling it casserole.

Q: What should I wear?
A: The key word that you should pay close attention to when it comes to attire is 'creative'. Wear whatever you find the most celebratory, something you can dance in, and that you find fabulous! If that's a kilt, goth formalwear, a corset and top hat, or a belly dancer outfit- wear it!

Q: Where is Hager City?
A: It's in Wisconsin about five minutes outside of Red Wing, not very far from the church. It's really easy to get to, but it you need directions, just ask!

Q: Will you be serving a vegetarian option?
A: Yes! The Bluffs is allowing us to bring in a vegetarian dish for those that prefer meat-free main courses.

Q: Will there be an open bar?
A: Actually, instead of an open bar we're going to be giving out two drink tickets per person that you can use on anything you want. We'll also be serving milk, water, and coffee with the dinner.

Q: Will you be having a bouquet/garter toss?
A: Instead of a garter toss, we'll be having a co-ed bouquet toss. If you're getting all the singles up and mingling for a bit, why keep them segregated?
