At the Powerhouse, you'll find your complete wedding package, all in one historic setting, which means you bring the rings and the dress, and we'll take care of everything else. From menu planning to dinner service, setup to breakdown and cleanup, our professional staff is here to cater to your needs, leaving you to enjoy the party with your friends and family.

The Powerhouse

Once the city's original power station, as the Powerhouse Event Center, the building has been renovated to become the premier wedding venue in Boise. Designed in the early 1900s, the Powerhouse today is an elegant setting for your ceremony and reception, with original brick and structural steel-timeless without feeling old-fashioned, stately without being overly ornate. The only limit to the space is your own imagination.

The main room of the Powerhouse is a high-ceilinged banquet hall with an elevated theatrical stage at one end and full-service bar at the other. Overlooking the main floor is the mezzanine, with a second bar and private Bride's Room for you and your bridesmaids to relax and prepare for the big moment.

Service

We offer you the freedom to do both ceremony and reception inside the Powerhouse. We will set the room with rowed seating and an aisle down the center for the ceremony, and at the conclusion-while your guests retreat to the mezzanine for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres-we will transform the room into your reception hall, with tables, chairs, linens, and centerpieces. And as part of the ceremony fee, we will also provide you with an extra hour of service for your guests to arrive and for the ceremony itself; we will cut your wedding cake; pass a champagne toast; and offer you one full hour for rehearsal earlier in the week.

All of the staff at the Powerhouse are experienced special events professionals. You can have confidence in knowing that your wedding is being staged by people who know events and weddings in particular. The setting is the reason many brides choose the Powerhouse, but our service makes your experience unforgettable.

Catering

Here you'll find an executive chef who will individually tailor your menu and then personally prepare the food in our on-site kitchen-which means the food is not limited in its design to withstand prolonged travel or time in warming ovens. We create thematic menus to match the season or your family's traditions, food that is distinctive and memorable, from an entire evening of passed hors d'oeuvres to elaborate buffets and full seated service.

We offer full bar service, including expansive choices of beer, wine, and spirits. We can create your specialty drink to pass to your guests as they arrive or for traditional wedding toasts.

In-House DJ service

Our exclusive, professional in-house DJ not only provides live mixing of music that is responsive to your guests, but also acts as the master of ceremonies to keep your reception moving and on-schedule. Included in the price of the DJ is the Powerhouse's concert-level sound system and dance lighting, LCD projector and drop-down screen for slideshows or videos, and microphones for toasts from friends and family.

Details

Included: dining and banquet tables, up to 225 chairs; plates, glassware, flatware, serving dishes and utensils; white linens and your choice of colored napkins. We will orchestrate the arrival of cakes and flowers, and will arrange all other rentals.
