Not sure how much this will be updated but we'll see!
This is crazy, I didn't expect it this fast. I just got the NOA2 in the mail. The petition was approved on March 31st, just a month and a few days after the NOA1. That's fast, just believe me. When I look at the timelines of most people, it takes MONTHS to get from NOA1-NOA2. Some people that got their NOA1 didn't get the 2nd until December-February. Either they really liked us or we just did everything perfectly and didn't have any problems. And maybe it's a good time of the year to file a...
I checked my bank account online and they cashed the check! So that means they got it. It also means I now know our case # and signed up online so I can check the status of it all on there. That's nice, so I'm not in the dark about everything.
Ok now it's really happening! I sent off the petition packet today. I got really nervous double checking everything making sure I didn't leave anything out. There's a lot of stuff in there! And then I had to rush around trying to find a place with a copying machine because I read that I should get copies of all the papers. It was a ripoff. I ended up having to spend over 4 dollars to copy them. Pshhh! But on the bright side, it is off on it's journey! It now BEGINS. WEE!
Ok I received Isaac's 2x2 passport photo in the mail yesterday. I JUST went through all the paperwork to make sure it's all there and made sure we didn't miss anything and then filled out the check. Ahh it's starting to hit me that we are now starting the process! I will hopefully be able to go out tomorrow and send it off. Just in case I haven't done so enough already I really want to thank all of you who chipped in and helped us out. While writing that check I really thought about it and...
Isaac's forms and stuff he had to do for the petition got here yesterday. The probably is that the British passport photo size is different than the USA one. Theirs is rectangular and slightly smaller instead of our standard 2inX2in. I thought they might accept it anyways but according to people on VisaJourney.com he had to get it redone. So he took a walk to "snappy snaps" today to get them redone. It cost him 9.99 for just TWO while the other ones he had done before at Somerfield were only...
Isaac and I both got passport style photos taken today, yay! And he also sent off all the stuff he needed to include in this first part so we'll see when it gets here. Soon after it does, I'll send the whole bunch of the petition to USCIS. Getting there!!
Most of the "alien fiance visa" petition stuff is done. I (Melody) filled out the I-129F form along with a cover letter and extra sheet extending on a question. Plus we both did the G-325A forms (repetitive ahh!) and the letters of intent to marry. Isaac copied some old plane tickets and passport stamps. I printed out photos of us together and a couple of our old emails. I still need to copy my birth certificate and some plane tickets of Isaac's that I have. What we both need to do is get...
Honestly the thing we need most is money. With immigration fees and the cost to get his butt over here we don't really have money for much else (including the wedding). I may open a gift registry but there isn't much we need. There isn't really a point in getting fancy ice cream makers, fondue kits, and nice glass ware. It isn't important.
