We met in college and never parted since.
Jake and Krisha found each other in De La Salle University. Jake was in Engineering. Krisha was in Liberal Arts.
Paulo Del was one of the three guys in a block section who started hanging out with 6 girls. Krisha was one of them. Tired of getting home at 6am from driving each of the girls home from gimmicks, he thought of bringing in his old friends to the girly barkada. Jake was one of them. Krisha would always be assigned to Jake's car. (This was after the course card incident where Jake stole Krisha's course card to get her name- pls refer to KNOW MORE ABOUT US.)
Jake and Krisha didn't talk a lot. Their usual conversations would pretty much be just enough to annoy each other or even worse, annoy others. Somehow, they have a commom schedule. Jake would pass by Krisha's apartment to kill time during long breaks. Krisha would ask Jake to solve her Math homeworks. Jake would ask her help in his non-Math subjects. These homeworks also resulted to long phone conversations. Solving homeworks evolved to solving each other's typical juvenile issues such as managing school pressure, analyzing love problems and just about anything under the sun.
As the barkada grew in number, the more Jake and Krisha became closer. The more they refused to admit, they were starting to like each other. They fought and denied the feeling. HAHA.
Not talking about "the feeling" nor joke about it, weirded them out. Till one day, they stopped talking and stopped joking totally.
Months went on with mind games. The long talks became simple "hi-hellos". They unconsciously avoided each other. But for some weird reason, they would always accidentally see each other in the school CHAPEL, pretending not to see each other. IT MUST BE A SIGN!
And then, one day, a day before his birthday, Jake called Krisha for a treat with friends. Krisha bought him a gift worth 5 weeks of her allowance thinking that it would be the first and the last. Jake, together with friends, picked her up and after dinner, sent her home.
Nothing special happened. They both thought that the friendship's over.
On the day of his birthday, Krisha was awakened by Jake's phone call. He asked for her to come see him by the gate. When they saw each other, there was just this, over pouring, burst of unexplainable, supressed emotions like those that you see in movies.
They didn't have to talk. They just cried and hugged.
