Here are the finer details on the big day...
The wedding and reception will be held at the Armour Heights Officers' Mess at the Canadian Forces College.
The ceremony will begin at 1600hrs and will be followed by hors d'oeuvres and photos. The reception will begin with a recieving line at 1830hrs.
Some important information about the venue:
As the wedding is happening on National Defence property, please be aware that you and your vehicle are liable to be searched. You will also be monitored on Closed Circut Television (CCTV). Please be aware that you MUST sign in with the Commissionaires upon arrival. You will require photo identification. We have to give them a guest list, so please ensure that we have the full names and spellings of those in your party. When you are leaving, you must also sign out with the Commissionaires. The good news is, you have to pass them to get to and from your car (or the bus stop).
Since children are welcome at both the ceremony and the reception, there are some additional considerations. Children are not allowed in the bar area of the Mess and should be supervised at all times. There are some areas with potential hazards, such as the solarium with the Koi pond. We simply want to lookout for everyone's safety so we can have a good time.
There may also be other people on the College grounds, so we simply ask that you are respectful as we are guests in their home.
If you have any questions about the rules and regulations, or expected behaviour while on National Defence property, please do not hesitate to contact us, or ask us while you are there.
