*Mystic, CT*
Walk around this quaint seaside town, but don’t eat the pizza (it’s not very good) – have some ice cream, instead. Tour the aquarium, too. It’s not Shedd, but it is neat. One hour away.
*New London/Groton/Waterford*
Visit Tim’s alma mater, tour the submarine museum, or go to the beach. Forty-five minutes away.
*Springfield, Mass.*
Visit the basketball hall of fame. One hour away.
*Near the CT/Mass. Border*
Spend the day at Six Flags New England. Forty-five minutes away.
CT Wine Trail
There are 18 vineyards that produce wine in Connecticut. The one closest to Manchester is 25 minutes away, in Colchester. If you're up for a longer drive, we recommend going to a few of the wineries in western Connecticut; that's a gorgeous area, too. See the link for more information.
