"Let me tell you a Story..." As with most famous of novels/stories, we shall begin with the phrase, "Once Upon A Time..." naturally the story ends with, "...and they lived Happily Ever After". However, that is just another end to another beginning. There are so many stories to tell, but we'll focus on these 2 lovers for it is their story that has been an inspiration to many others who have now found their happiness as well. The following is a True Story based on Actual happenings and No fiction was added in any case at all...
"Damn it! I'm late for my first day of work on my first job!!!?!?!?!?" As I creeped into the office on Level 13A, all the Staff were gathered in a circle, much like a cult ceremony! and all eyes were on me, its was scary, and more so on my first ever day of my first ever job! After settling down, I took a stroll around and saw this Notice Board which had an A4 paper stuck on it, with the title - "New Staff Introduction". There was only ONE and the name of the girl was weird to me. Never had I come accross such a name before. But the name did sound very unique and as i repeated the name, the sound became more soothing. I looked around and saw her! Months later, I realised that she actually had a bad impression on me as I was already late on my first day. When I finally had a chance to talk to her, it was cool! It was the first time I had a chat with someone whose English pronunciation was near perfect!
When the chance finally came, and she was S&A (single and available), I made the decision that proved to be the BEST ever decision I've made in this life! Yet my Intentions of Courting her were Never hidden. I was open and soon enough, the entire world evolving around us at that time, knew of our situation and thanks to my colleagues who have since become great friends, they had continuously provided positive support towards us.
The first and most notable chance was when we were the only 2 staffs selected to attend the Regional Training in Singapore. Being so focused on her, we couldn't give a rat's ass to the 2 Nincompoops who had travelled with us. (those who know, you know la).
From there to Bali, all the way to Hong Kong, my Courting experiences had literally travelled over Vast Seas and Clear Skies (Hoi Foot Thin Hoong)! Nothing more we both could have asked for in this Courtship Journey!
Paradise in Malaysia...The Avillion PD is a luxurious Resort that captures the most intense romance one could ask for, especially in Port Dickson! Destiny had led us to become Co-Emcees for the Conference held here and this was the event that I decided to take our Relationship to the next step! Though there had been numerous chances before, but this was the perfect setting one could ask for.
And so after dinner on the private beach, after everyone had gone back to their rooms, we took a stroll and intentionally ended up back at the same beach, Tumasek Beach. The rest of the night is history...Of course I won't share the intimate details of what I did! Muahahahaha!!!
Now is the stage where the direction is ONLY 2. Either continue down the path towards Marriage or the other which is not favoured. Thankfully we both had the same intentions. If not we would not have started at all!!!
So it is the Girlfriend, Boyfriend stage, where the couple is always lovey dovey. Then there would be people who would say, "aiyaaa, next time, sure he will not be so lovey dovey like that anymore waaaan.". I beg to differ! moving on from this stage is another stage of happiness. One needs not be always lovey dovey to ensure a lasting relationship! Look at Hollywood for crying out loud!
This was among the best times we've had. The situation allowed us to meet up often and this enhanced the relationship and the situation also allowed us to have a great group of friends whom we have grown together. As work was so hectic, colleagues become friends and family.
We had already decided to get married! Plans were on its way. I could have saved a whole sum of money and skipped the proposing part since it seemed unnecessary as we've decided to get married anyway.
But like in everything we do in life, we must do it well. Finish what we've started. Do things we love with passion and sincerity. So I got my Best Man, David to accompany me to look for the Engagement Ring...We learnt fairly enough about Rings and Diamonds from a long day's journey. Finally we got a beautiful shining Diamond, within my budget la that is. It is no Tiffany nor Cartier nor was it Lazar or Hearts on Fire. It was the new and famous D & P - Diamond & Platinum. We learnt that price comes big with brand in this business!
So on our 2nd Anniversary, I booked an Italian Restaurant, Prego @ The Westin, KL. Simply THE most delicious Italian food we've ever tasted! I love Aglio Olio Pasta - plain pasta with olive oil and some herbs, and this place ranks way beyond any other outlets I've been to.
Reeling from a hearty Dinner, I took her to the Eye of Malaysia. At that time, it was ONLY scheduled to be there for a period of one year, making it a Limited Experience! (Mana tau, now extended di, buggers!)
The ticket was RM 12 per head, and one Gondola could fit in about 8 people. I can't have 8 people staring at me going down on one knee, so I had to book the whole damn gondola! The Price was...RM......hehehe, I won't reveal this here too! :p
Anyway, she was a little frightened because of the height, but soon after I took out the Ring and went on one knee, her fears disappeared Instantly!!! So it is true after all, Diamonds have a Powerful Effect on the Female Gender...!!!
And the rest is history...
Not being able to afford one, and being particular in many senses, We BOTH were the wedding planners and thus we began planning the wedding. One and a half years ago, mid 2007, we went searching for a Dinner Venue! After searching through almost every damn restaurant and hotel in the Klang Valley, we finally found our pick, Imperial China Tai Thong Subang. Seemed like the perfect one for us. Personalised entrance, beautiful deco, good food etc.
But the more shocking fact was that even at that time, one and a half years ago, there were ALREADY bookings confirmed for December 2008! I mean WTF man!
We also had to go to the Chinese Sifu who specialises in determining a good date for us based on our birth dates, our parents birth dates etc. Also computerised. And he spoke so fast, I lost him somewhere at the beginning!!!
Then late last year, we went around with our good friends, Helen & Herman (another beautiful couple) to search for a Bridal Studio. I tell you, one particular one was so aggressive, I nearly punched her!!! Face so damn thick like the meat of an old cow!!!
Helen & Herman then introduced to us this place in SS2, Victoria Bridal. After the initial explanation of the packages, we loved the way the Photos were taken. Piece of Advice: It is not the looks of the Shop that matters. What matters most in choosing a good Bridal is their Photography (do the couple like the way they take the photos?), Services given, Friendliness, Flexibility and Understanding what the couple wants.
Another piece of advice is Never Judge a Book by its Cover. Not all good photographers dress like a professional. Some are just unique, like ours! Glad to have them take our photos.
Then comes the long process. Getting registered in between, had to attend the Marriage Course at St John's Cathedral to be able to wed in church, Taking the Studio shots and shots at TTDI Park as well as Port Dickson. I guess luck was on our side as the weather was Fantastic in PD! There were Blue skies when we wanted them and when we wanted a Sunset shot, down came the most beautiful and bright sunset we've seen!
Then comes the most tedious part of all, selecting 70 photos out of about 700!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It took us the entire day! Morning we were there at 11.30am. We finished at Dinner time.
Then we collected the albums recently and already passed out the Invitation cards and now we're at the final preparations and final stages for our Big Day!!!
A damn long process I would NEVER want to go through again! That is why I can confirm I will only marry once!!! hahaha! Though we never want to do it again, but we enjoyed every single moment of it!
And now, on to the Day we've been planning for since we had First Sight...
