I am sorry to say that there isn't too much to do in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows it self. Vancouver is about a 25-30 minute drive (that may just be Jeff's driving though). Hopefully, this will help you find some where to have fun. I did find a really good website: http://www.findfamilyfun.com/ I found lots of good ideas. If you have any questions about any of these place please contact us and we'll try to answer any questions you might have.
Maple Ridge, British Columbia
Golden Ears is really pretty. There are some nice little trails, if you want to spend a little time in nature. Alouette Lake is located inside the park, the lake is glacier fed though so it can be a little chilly. Another good website to look at if you are considering going here is: http://www.out-there.com/golden.htm
I think that this could be really fun. I have been wanting to do it for a long time, but I haven't be able to yet. I really urge you to check out the website. They also have directions on how to get there. I always thought that it was in Maple Ridge but it says Mission. I think that this is was also one of the locations that they filmed X-men at. If not here then Hayward Lake which isn't to far away.
The Power House at Stave Falls offers an exciting experience for all ages, with interactive games and historic displays that tell the story of how power helped build British Columbia.
Take a walk through the past into the future at the Power House at Stave Falls! Learn how electricity is made and see turbines and generators up close
Fort Langley is pretty cool, you'll really feel like you go back in time. If you go over, you must stop by the actual Fort. I have been before and it's really amazing. I would put Fort Langely near the top of yur list. This is the site for the acutal fort: www.pc.gc.ca/fortlangley
fort.langley@pc.gc.ca
There is tons to do here. I am sure that it would be a fun thing to do. I haven't done this, but ones again I would like to one day. I have a big to do list lol. More then just a maze, you could easily spend half a day there.
Experience life in the 1920s. A traditional BC Electric Railway tram stop village has been created with a combination of heritage and replica buildings on a 10 acre site. Period costumed staff and volunteers welcome visitors and give demonstrations in the homes, businesses and shops. Be sure to take in the elegance of the Interurban #1223 and the interactive tram exhibit. An exciting must for every visitor is a whirl on the fully restored historic 1912 CW Parker Carousel.
The map is how to get to the IMAX, but it's inside of Canada Place so it works. Check out the website. This is also where the cruise ship come and go from.
A must see if you don't mind heights. Plenty to do once you've crossed the bridge.
Tons to do, and so pretty.
I haven't been there in a couple of years, but I really enjoyed myself when I went.
A must see if you've never been to Vancouver or haven't been here for a while. A fun way to sepnd part of the day downtown, the public market is amazing. Tons to do always open.
It's a bit of a drive, but it's beautiful. Warm hot springs to swim in, a nice little resort town.
Tons of fun for everyone. Was orignally built for Exop '86
You can't go to Vancouver and not go to Stanley Park. After a rough winter in 2006, the park is back in it's prime. Also home of the Vancouver Aquarium.
I haven't been there in ages I think I was 7 or 8 the last time. But I have heard good things about it.
