Love: A Public Service Announcement OR Can Love Give One Drymouth?
It is quite possible that this engagement photo is my favorite. It's not really one that we'd use for our announcements or to give to lots of people, but every time I look at it, I get the same sensation as actually being hugged by that wonderful, wonderful man with his wonderful, wonderful hugs.
I've been reading in Louann Brizendine's The Female Brain (a entire 200+ page book about how a woman's brain works on a chemical level-- fascinating) about affection and the sexes, and for women specifically, every time we're around someone we love, there is a big dump of the bonding chemical oxytocin into the blood stream which induces feelings of trust and love and decreases feelings of fear. Brizendine even compares the feelings oxytocin produces to the feelings produced by the drug Ecstasy. After enough time, "even the sight of a lover can cue a woman to release oxytocin." Which is awesome.
