Jeremy & Chelsea

So Who's Jeremy?

For those who don’t know our respective partners-to-be, we wanted to give a brief introduction of each other, so I’m writing some things about Jeremy, and he’s writing some things about me. I wrote this without consultation, so some things could be vague or wrong, but that’s part of the fun. :) Now, on to the real post:

Hello.

Hello.

I am Chelsea, and this is Jeremy Stensrud.

Jeremy is 26 years old, devastatingly handsome, and I love him intensely. Right now he’s finishing his Bachelor’s in English at the University of Utah (he should be done in May). He also still works. How I understand it, he works at Castle Inspection Service in Salt Lake proofing reports that inspectors send it. He bounces around in the office a little every once and a while, but that is where he is right now.

Jeremy loves media. :) Off the top of my head, some of his favorite authors: Nick Hornby, Jonathan Safron Foer, and Hemingway. Off the top of my head, some of his favorite TV shows: Scrubs, The Office, and right now he’s catching up on the intense world that is Lost. He’s in season 3, so don’t ruin anything… Jer also loves music a whole lot, though we’ve still yet to go to a concert together (unless the impromptu Jenny Lewis and Bon Iver concert counts…). Some of Jeremy’s favorite bands/artists are: Blind Melon, Pearl Jam, Avail, Rancid, and The Bouncing Souls.

He’s got a fantastic group of friends who are super important to him—they’ve been his same group of friends (for the most part) since he was a wee little tyke, and I still marvel at this even being a thing people can do. I think it’s fantastic of/for them all. Below is a picture (appropriated from Jeremy's Blog) of some of them.

While I have trouble loving winter, it’s Jeremy’s favorite season. This is awesome for us. When I get quiet and calm and internal and sometimes mopey because of the snow, Jeremy runs out the door and is catching snowflakes on his tongue, giggling like the happiest of all the children. It helps compensate for my lack of thrill for him to pull me outside and see how excited he is.

He loves sports a lot—in my view, all of them, but especially football. I don’t know if this will make the final draft of this post, but he’s actually playing three leagues of fantasy football this year. :D His favorite teams are (some for sentimental reasons), for football, the Eagles, and for baseball, the Cubs. He listens to ESPN radio while he’s driving and has approximately 10 sports podcasts he listens to while he works. I forget this sometimes because he hardly ever brings anything sports-related up with me or doesn’t watch many games with me, mostly because I know it’s hard to talk to someone with a sports knowledge and natural enthusiasm that is next to nil. The anecdote we like to give on that front is that during this last Super bowl, I played with tinker toys building the frame of a home, and during the play that changed the world or game or whatever (I still don’t know what it is) while he and his dad were yelling and cheering, I fell asleep. :)

Ten things, big and small, I love about Jeremy:
1-The sense of security I feel with this man is unreal. Physical security, emotional security, psychological security, spiritual security… and that is a good feeling.
2- He’s not only emotionally intelligent, but emotionally brilliant.
3- We’re well-suited for each other with our level off adventurousness but having a strong tie to family.
4- He's infallibly supportive.
5- His omni-present concern for his future children.
6- I love the way he bites his lips after asking a question he’s excited to hear the answer to.
7- I love his writing to tiny, tiny pieces.
8- His moderate disdain for the norm.
9- He is the somebody else that I need, and I am the somebody else he needs.
10- I couldn't ask for a single thing more in our kisses; they are unparalleled.
