Jesse & Monica

Attractions

There is so much to do and see in the beautiful northwoods where Jesse and I are from. I included a few things you could check out if you have extra time to see some local sights.

Little Bohemia Lodge

Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin 54545

Jesse worked at this famous restaurant for years, and my grandma Shirley took us there once when I was really little! The website says, "part of the filming for Universal's Public Enemies movie starring Johnny Depp was 'shot' at Little Bohemia Lodge, April 2009. Memorabilia from the original shoot out, as well as from the major motion picture filming, can be viewed while dining at Little Bohemia."

Whenever we go up north, it isn't a complete visit without a boat trip to Greer's Pier for a sub. Jesse recommends the pizza sub, and I am a fan of the Tuna!

Alder Lake Cranberry Gift Shop & Boulder Junction's mainstreet (shopping, coffee)

We love to visit the shop that grew out of Jesse's grandparent's cranberry marsh. They have lots of cranberry-inspired gifts, such as lovely cranberry glass vases and dishes, cranberry-scented soaps and lotions, and cranberry-infused treats!
Next door there is a beautiful art gallery with local and Wisconsin-based artists' prints, jewelry, and paintings, and just down the street there is a coffee shop for your latte withdrawl!

If you check out the map, our entire wedding is taking place in the area surrounded by the purple "Interpretive Trail," and there are also miles and miles of other trails to check out! We have the park to ourselves, and wedding guests are welcome to use canoes and fishing poles to explore the lake, enjoy the trails, or just lounge around on the beach (it is tiny--but it is there!).
