Seattle's central gathering place takes top honors in 2007 (on Best of King 5). Besides the numerous festivals held there, there's the Pacific Science Center, the Seattle Children's Theater, The Children's Museum, the Fun Forest Amusement Park, the International Fountain (usually surrounded by laughing and soaked kids), the funky EMP building, a kid-friendly food court and a somewhat well-known landmark called The Space Needle.

Covering 92 acres and featuring more than 1,900 animals, Woodland Park Zoo has been a family institution for more than 100 years. The Zoomazium, a recently opened year-round indoor play space, makes the zoo an even more friendly hangout for the little ones.
