Erik & Jill

Our Story

Our Engagement

Our Engagement

Jill was at work on June 2nd, when one of her co-workers computers unexpectedly failed, with a big deadline looming. Jill was sent down to the Apple store on Michigan Avenue to purchase a new computer at the end of the day. Erik's little brother Dan was in town that afternoon, and called Jill saying he wanted to look for an Ipod at the store. He met her there, and once she had made her purchase he told her that Erik and some buddies were having a drink at a bar around the corner. He lead her into a doorway, and up an elevator. She didn't notice that they were at the Omni hotel, and where he lead her wasn't the bar. Erik met Jill and Dan in the hallway. He grabbed Jill's hand and lead her through a doorway, instructing her to look at the beautiful view.

When Jill turned around, he was shaking and holding the ring. "Will you marry me?" were the next words out of his mouth! To celebrate, Erik had champagne poured, and was playing "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles.

Erik had also arranged for several of their friends to meet them at the bar where they had their first date.

How We Met

How We Met

It all started on a March afternoon. Jill was getting on an airplane to fly to Colorado to visit a friend. Her connecting flight had been cancelled, so she was rerouted to Houston for a layover. It just so happens that on that same flight in the next seat was a handsome gentleman. He started a conversation with her, and they hit it off immediately. He told her of a restaurant guide filled with reviews of Chicago restaurants. She gave him her email in hopes of getting some good tips on places to eat (she has yet to receive this "so called" guide...). Near the en d of the flight, the gentleman asked if he could share her email with his nephew that lived in Chicago.

That nephew was Erik, and after a few emails, the two met.

The rest, as they say, is history!
