It all started with an IM...
Sheryl: Joanna, are you dating someone?
Joanna: Nope, why what's up?
Sheryl: OK. I want you to meet my cousin.
Joanna: K, just let me know.
With an initial meeting...
Indian Food in Artesia. Did I mention Joanna didn't even like Indian food? Not much progressed from this evening, but this was the first meeting!
Progressed with weekly group dates all over Los Angeles...
MOCA - Downtown
Bowling in Burbank
Karaoke in KTown
Old Town Pasadena
Star Shoes in Hollywood
Initiated by Sheryl, while Janelle did a fabulous job putting together outings! And now... the rest is history :)
The day pretty much started off like any of our other Sundays…
- Run around the Rose Bowl (Joanna ran 4 miles, Alan ran 5 miles)
- Breakfast at Noah’s Bagels (We shared a turkey and egg sandwich on a wheat bagel)
- Alan watching Football (The Skins beat the Eagles by 7, the Chargers beat Tampa bay by 17)
- Joanna doing laundry and cleaning
The whole day we said we’d go to the Griffith Observatory (the site of our first ‘planned’ date) - we didn’t have any plans that evening so why not? We get there at about 4pm, walk around for a little bit, take in a few exhibits, take a few pictures and sit outside and sip hot chocolate. It’s about 530 and the sun sets and it’s freezing (freezing to me is 65 degrees) - so I tell Alan, hey let’s leave so I can go to Target before we go to dinner. He then asks me to take a picture of him (in my head, I’m thinking - why does he want a solo?!?!). The rest is a blur, but it consisted of Alan getting on one knee and lots of crying!!!
