Joms & May

Our Story

Our love story began when we first met at a badminton tournament back in 2005. What started out as friendship blossomed into something more. Now, after 3 years of being sweetheart, we've decided to tie the knot.

His side of the story

a year in a making...this is was our first picture together...di pa kami nyan...
His side of the story

I first met MAY @ a badminton tournament. Just like most of the guys, me and my friends were stunned by the beauty of this new girl in our company. I ask one of our colleague to introduce me to her. Unfortunately they refused to let me know her. ewan ko ba bakit ayaw nila. good boy naman ako. wala daw sa itsura eh...hehehe!

The second acquaintance was during another badminton tournament again. I was sitting beside a court when suddenly a shuttlecock hit my back so hard. I was totally unaware of it. As I turned around, she was smiling at me and told me that I was blocking her view. feeling close! eh hindi pa naman kami magkakilala. basta napikon ako that time. kaso biglang nagpa-tweetums eh! wala nakong nagawa pa... hehehe! Anyway, that was the day when we got to know each other pa lang.

Here comes the third part. A year after the second badminton incident. It was when she was assigned in our department to be part of a dance presentation. And since I'm the only one she knew then, no choice, kelangan nya akong pagtiyagaan. hehehe! We really had a good time together. It was actually her birthday on that day. I was unaware of it so I wasn't able to greet her nor treat her on that day. she did gave me a hint though, kaso, slow ako... di ko nahulaan agad! tsk! tsk! tsk! Sayang! pero anyway, nasundan din naman yun ng mga gimik with friends...so yun na...that was the start of everything...lagi na nya akong sinasamahan and nagpapabili ng food kapag may duty sya...kaso magaling din akong mambola... bumigay din! hehehe! and ngayon ikakasal na kami! kaya dapat enjoy lahat! punta kayo sa kasal namin ha...kung invited ka!!! bwahehehe! enjoy! ciao!

Her side of the story

chance made us find each other many times, but it was destiny that brought us together...
Her side of the story

I was a new hire then, but was lucky enough to represent Manila Water in a badminton dual meet. On the day of the tournament, I barely know the other players from my company's team (except a couple of familiar faces - one being my partner in mixed doubles). So, I just watched the on-going games, while patiently waiting for my turn.
And then a championship game got into me. I was so interested watching the game because all the players are good and competitive. The scores were tight and it was a very good match, I can say. I was so engrossed watching it when suddenly a flat back is facing me… a tall guy stood in front of me and blocked my view. He didn't move nor walk away. He may not be aware I was behind him because I was seated on the bench. I know we are from the same company, because he's wearing the same uniform as I am but I don't know his name. Since I didn't feel like standing up and approach him, to get his attention, I threw a shuttlecock at him. When he turned, I smiled and gestured that I'm watching the game and his into my view. He walked away (finally!) and I returned to the game… just something ordinary.

Several months have passed. I was so busy juggling with several SAP systems myself that I barely noticed time has passed me by. Finally, I decided to get out of my routinely SAP Basis Admin work by participating in a company dance presentation. I figured that since I'm going to meet my friends after business hours in Makati because of a sort of "my special day" celeb, I might as well attend the dance rehearsal I was being persuaded to attend. I got the much-needed time off work and dancing didn't bother me at all so I headed to the rehearsal in Makati BA office. When I arrived and noticed that I'm the only one from the main office, I was already hesitant to join. I was thinking of leaving when someone called everyone's attention and announced my presence (he shouted actually). I know I knew him or rather his face is familiar. Maybe, I bumped into him once or twice during the badminton events of our company, I’m not that sure. Anyways, since my presence has been known, I walked in. Since he’s the only one I know (logically though but not by name), I approached him and he introduced me to the other participants. I tend to forget names, not if I associate their name with something. So, I thought that rehearsal was just something to kill time before I meet up my friends. But then, something interesting happened over lunch. The group decided to eat lunch in Tokyo, Tokyo at Market!Market!. During lunch, since I’m the new one, they threw questions regarding about me and work stuffs. Joms (I only came to know his name because during the rehearsal his team mates called him) asked the month of my birthday. So, I answered that it’s May. He was so excited since he figured that that day it was only the second day of the month, May. And he said something like, “Eh di birthday mo kahapon kasi May 2 ngayon.” I answered that it wasn’t as yesterday; it’s my father’s birthday. I thought he already figured it out so while I was waiting for him to greet me, he only said, “Aaahh, okay.” And that ended that conversation. I was like surprised but amused… and I remembered his name then on.

First Movie Date

a disaster...
First Movie Date

X-Men3...That's the first movie we've watched together at Shangrila...Date pa lang yun...di pa kami nun. So why am I telling you this? Its Ordinary! So what? well actually it was a disaster...Bwahahaha! here it goes:

It was a weekday, I went to work with an aching stomach (mejo di pa masyadong masakit). I know I will meet her that evening for a dinner and a movie, so to cut the story short, I fetched her @ Shangrila after her dance rehearsal, then we ate dinner, watch a movie. My stomach was not really feeling fine at that time. She was enjoying the movie, I'm not. She ask me what's wrong. I told her that my stomach is aching but I'm OK. But honestly, I'm already having muscle cramps in my stomach. So after the movie, we went out of the cinema and there it happened. Right there and there, I collpased due to severe pain. I couldn't stand the pain anymore. She's so frightened! So I was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. It was a mess! my condition even got even worst. I was vomiting all over. So they need to rush me again into another hospital (The Medical City). This time they told me I was food poisoned. It was the food I ate with my dad the night before. So I was given medication and needed to stay @ the hospital till morning. the sad thing is, she was needed (intended) to stay with me till sunrise. She did not sleep. I was so embarrased coz its our first date and bcoz' of my situation, she wasn't able to go to work the following day. Well its a funny story, but it worked well for the both of us...we were just telling stories all night long...and the good thing is, we're now getting married...ciao!

The Proposal

"What did you do?"
The Proposal

hi...for those asking about the proposal story, well I'm sorry to say that I will only reveal that on the wedding day...hahaha! cguro dahil kaming dalawa lang may alam nun... pero here is a bitin story...pagtyagaan ninyo muna:

I was really busy lookin' or finding the best way to propose. Askin' friends, browsing the net, etc. All were really common and corny...well ganun naman yata talaga pag nagpropropose...I've long decided to give it on the 8th of December. Sakto pa may fashion show siya nung araw na yun. My original plan was to give it during the fashion show sakto pag talikod niya after rumampa, kaso wala akong access sa backstage and wala akong kakilala sa organizers..."mahina" kung baga...anyway, tuliro kasi ako nun and its december 8 and I don't have really a plan on how I will do it...sinundo ko siya, we went out, dinner at MOA sa "shooters" (ayaw nya akong tumingin dunsa mga sexy waitresses). There was a romantic place there by the bay near a fountain. doon ko sana ibibigay, niyaya ko siya doon kaso, naka High heels siya and ayaw na daw nyang maglakad ng malayo...so purnada na naman...so nag decide na lang kaming umuwi sa antipolo...pero bago dun, nagyaya akong mag Kopiroti sa Katipunan for a take-out of our favorite "Kaya Toast"...My plan was to slid the Box of the engagement ring inside the small paper bag of the bread...which I did...kaso, di niya inubos yung bread kaya naiwan sa loob yung box with engagement Ring. I keep on telling her to eat the last piece of bread so she can feel and see the box inside the bag. para surprise! kaso wala talaga...hanggagng nakarating kami sa haous nila and nagkwentuhan muna kami...last chance ko na to...before i was about to leave, nasa pocket ko na na yung ring and i was about to kneel down to propose when suddenly...boink!!! lumabas erpats niya mula sa kwarto...so di ko na naman nabigay...sabi ko it's not the right day and not the right time and definitely not the right way to do it...so yun!!! umuwi akong luhaan at walang napala! hahahah!

so yung next story...sa wedding na lang...para gusto kong makita ang mga reaksiyon ninyo sa ka-weirduhan na proposal ko...okay! see you soon! CIAO!!!
