I was working at a local bar (yeah, I know) and Jon and his friends were regulars there. Over the course of time I got to know their group really well and sometimes I would even get a drink with them. Apparently, unknown to me Jon had always had a crush on me and even talked about me to his family! But he didn't want to be "that guy," you know, the one who hits on the cocktail waitress.
Time passes.......and I am finally comfortable enough at my day job to quit working nights at the bar, so after a rocky start one night, I walked out! Needing to blow off some steam, I called one of the guys in Jon's group of friends to see what they were up to for the evening and was told they were all going to meet up and I was welcome to join. After hanging up with me he proceeded to call Jon to let him know that I would be coming and what had just happened. That night Jon made his move..........and we've been together ever since!
Being the unconventional people that we are :), marriage is the last step that we are taking in our family foundation. We already have two children (Chaelin & JW) and a cute little home to call our own. Chaelin our oldest is 5 1/2yrs old and actually my daughter from a previous relationship. Jon and I have been together since she was 2yrs old so they consider themselves father & daughter. Our son JW (Jonathan Wayne) is just over a year old and the spitting image of his dad. We've been in our home for also just over a year, right before the birth of our son.
Life is good, but definately busy. We are always looking for more time, with two young children, that is certainly a precious commodity. We are also trying to update our home, one room at a time which is also proving to move much slower than we could have imagined. Overall though we are lucky to have all that we do.
Jon works for his family business Allen at Your Service and I stay home with the kids. That is definately a change of pace for me because I have always worked full time and always in a social environment. So to get out of the house I work two nights a week bartending at Joe's Crab shack on the north side of Indy.
