Marriage Celebration

Saturday March 20 | 6:00pm

4 Archdale, Charleston, SC 29401

Charleston is a wonderful city full of history, character and beauty.

Charleston, with its abundance of churches, is rightfully called the "Holy City." Our marriage celebration will take place at the Unitarian Church in downtown Charleston. Tucked away on a small side street this church provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for all of us to celebrate together. The Unitarian Church is the second oldest church on the city peninsula and is designated a National Historic Landmark.

Our reception will take place at the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon. Built in 1777, it is where South Carolina declared independence from Britain in March of 1776, ratified the U.S. Constitution in 1788, and where George Washington celebrated during his 1791 Charleston visit. It is one of the three most historically signifcant buildings of colonial America.

The Old Exchange is a working museum and is filled with American and Charlestonian historical artifacts. While enjoying the festivities be sure to take part in the dungeon tours led by guides dressed in 18th century costumes.

Transportation

Charleston is a walking city and is most enjoyed by strolling through the old cobblestone streets. The walk from the ceremony to the reception will be charming and short. If you are not comfortable walking, please contact your hotel conceirge to arrange a taxi or rickshaw. There is no parking at the church, and only limited garage parking 3 blocks from the Old Exchange.
