Some crafty items mom and I are making and some other details we have purchased!
Okay so I ordered a Save the Date from vistaprint. Dad came up with the poem and I designed it. Poem reads: Jordan & Brandon are getting married. Yes it's true. Please save the date and join us as we say I DO!
Mom bought this for the wedding cake. It is GORGEOUS!!! We have Jordan green and Brandon blue. The H is done in both colors with the AB crystals as well--NOT orange!!
Super cute!! Mickey. Minnie. On the beach. LOVE! Brandon and my favorite things. Disney and the beach!
added some blue feathers and mom learned how to curl them! very cute!!
simple buckle, simple ribbon. good job mom!
updated!! can see the rhinestones I added when I first got it and now we changed the ribbon and added some jewels! pretty pretty!!
Okay...so I didn't do this myself. BUT I bought the vase and the flowers and mom took them to the designer at Michael's and she created this masterpiece! It has my peacock feathers in it, hydrangea, bells of Ireland, my peacock balls, and some twigs and ivy. The vase is a teal and gold mosiac. The picture doesn't do it justice, but this piece is AWESOME!!!!
I got the inspiration from Z Gallerie. However, they wanted $25 a piece for them, which is way out of budget for something so simple. I decided to make my own out of placemats I found at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and hot glue feathers from Saves On Crafts. These placemats will be used underneath the tall centerpieces and also at Brandon and my sweetheart table. I think they turned out great!!
These are going to be our centerpieces for half of our tables. I found the candle holders at Hobby Lobby and we are making the peacock wreathes. I liked the idea that not everything has to have flowers. The other half of our centerpieces will be tall with flowers in clear vases. They will incorporate the peacock feathers and mimick the entry floral--of course not as large and full.
I liked the idea of keeping a momento from the wedding ceremony. We decided to do a sand ceremony instead of the usual unity candle. For those who have never heard, its the same thing as a unity candle only no fire. We will be using a bright green sand and a bright blue sand. I am going to buy a couple of "pretend" wedding sand so Brandon and I can practice pouring. Our small vases have a J and B on it and a H on the center heart. I have also found some pretty readings while the ceremony is going on.
My mom found these online and knew they would be perfect. I saw the Waterford Lismore champagne flutes in a bridal magazine and fell in love with them but didn't want to have to spend $150 on a set to use for a couple of times. She found these online and the cuts are stunning. They aren't real crystal but that doesn't matter to me. I just like the blue colored champagne flutes. They cost about $25 for the pair and are lighter in weight and are prettier than the Waterford ones. Brandon loved them because they were blue.
I found these on clearance at Dillard's and mom added some fluff. The handle is blue with a green ball on top. Love them. They will be perfect for our cake smashing!
These are the wreaths we will be using at the entrance of the venue. We spray painted a J and a B to go inside. I don't know if I should rhinestone it or what yet.
These are the linens we decided for our tables. The colors are very fall and subtle. Peacock blue on the table and olive green on the chairs. Love it!
These were purchased at Garden Ridge. They hold little tea lights and look like a gazebo or birdhouse. I didn't want them to look like outdoor camp lanterns but I think they are very cute!!
this is one of the things..besides the wedding itself..that I am most excited about! Everyone has been doing candy bars but we are going to do a COOKIE BAR!! WOO!! A friend of the family LOVES to bake so she is going to bake all kinds of cookies for the wedding! I am going to help her of course. Mom and I have been buying cookie jars from Michaels and Hobby Lobby everytime there has been a good sale! We also bought the LOVE signs at Hobby Lobby! We are going to put a green or teal cloth on the table so that is what that color is in the center....
We ordered one of the frames. It will hold a 5 x 7 photo and enough room for 175 signatures. I have always liked the idea of guests signing something that has to be displayed but wasn't too keen on the pen one. I saw this at a bridal show and thought it was the best thing ever!! The pen writes like a regular pen but it has a diamond tip I think to engrave the silver mat! Ours is vertical. However the harder you press..the better the result--so press a little harder people!!
so my mom surprised us with letting us know we are going to have an antique car for when we leave the reception. The Baroness--A Rolls Royce! Its got a right hand driving and a pearl exterior. I love the antique look of cars--so classic.
Mom made these for me!! They are so PRETTY!! Three prongs per pick with iridescent beads.
Teal beads in a teardrop shape..
Mom made these. After about 4 or 5 tries--we found a winner!
