Julie and Wesley first met when Julie joined the sanctuary choir at Christ United Methodist Church in August of 2005. It wasn't hard to notice each other, since out of the 100 members there were only about 10 college students. From August to December only courteous "hello" and "how are you?" passed between them.
Right before Christmas vacation, Wesley sang a solo in Church. For someone whom she had barely spoken with, Wesley's strong voice made Julie sit up and listen. Afterwards, Julie sought Wesley out to tell him how much she enjoyed his solo. She also happened to mention that she attended the College Sunday school every week.
After Christmas vacation, Wesley was at Sunday school every week with out fail sitting next to Julie. She didn't believe it was just coincidental, and she was right. Wesley was trying to figure out how to ask her on a date, but she never seemed to be alone. She was always around too many other people. Finally, one Saturday in March Wesley and Julie happened to see each other at an Aggie Baseball game and Wesley knew he had found his opportunity.
The next morning at church Wesley casually mentioned that they should go to a baseball game together sometime. Julie said, "That would be great," while thinking to herself "FINALLY!" It turned out that the next home baseball game wasn't for two weeks, so for their first date they went to dinner at J.Cody's in Bryan instead.
At J. Cody's customers walk up to the counter and order when they're ready. Julie wasn't 100% sure if this was a date, or not. When Wesley started to pay for her dinner, Julie decided she didn't want to wait all night to find out. So she blurted out, "I only let guys pay for my dinner on dates, so... is this a date?" Wesley smoothly replied "Well, I hope so." And that was that. They stayed at the restaurant talking for about two hours when they noticed that everyone else had already left.
"I guess you could say, that got things started on a good note. I'm sorry... I couldn't resist."

For Julie and Wesley, it is hard to believe that they have been together for over 2 years now.
After dating for only a month, Julie left to study abroad in Spain and Wesley went to do an internship in Dallas. They didn't see each other again until summer was almost over.
When classes resumed, they both returned to College Station. Wesley was in graduate school studying architecture and Julie was an undergraduate in accounting. Although they were both busy, they would see each other almost every day.
It was nice being in the same town, but when Wesley graduated in the spring of 2007, he was Dallas bound and the long distance relationship ensued. However, this wasn't anything new to them. Since they had done it before, they could do it again.
There have been many trips back and forth between Aggieland, Dallas and Houston, but they have all been worth it! Today they look forward to the day when they'll live in the same city again.
