How We Met
August 25, 2005

How we met was not really the traditional way to meet someone but it seems to be the more contemporary way for couples to. No I'm not talking about on the internet but at a bar.
On August 25, 2005 Justin and I met at Shark Club in Costa Mesa, California. I had went that night with my roommate, Stephanie, and Justin had gone with one of his roommates, Elliot, and two of his other friends. So from what I'm told, as soon as I walked into the bar Elliot had turned to Justin and told him, "Dude, there's your perfect girl." And from this comment I am assuming that he meant that I was physically Justin's "perfect girl" because I don't think that he could tell that I had a great personality from just looking at me. However, even though I was Justin's "perfect girl" he tried to play it cool by not even showing a little bit of interest in meeting me but one of his friend came over and started talking to me and then introduced me to Justin. So after we ended up meeting and talking for a while we definitely found out that we liked each other.
I saw Justin two days later for our first date, two days after that we went out again, then I visited him in Tucson for the weekend a few days after that, and since then we have only been apart for a total of maybe three days.

"Will You Marry Me?"

The Proposal Story
"Will You Marry Me?"

I feel like I've told this story so many times that I have a script of how it all happened. But the whole night was perfect and Justin was amazing with his creativity and thoughtfulness.
On December 22, 2005 Justin and I decided that we were going to stay at a hotel for the night to celebrate the beginning of our winter break together. Even though I had made all of the arrangements for the night, Justin was sneaking behind my back to make some arrangements of his own. He had gone down to the hotel during the day, checked in early, decorated the room, planted the box that he used to ask me to marry him inside the room, and asked the people at the front desk to still have us "check-in."
So when we finally got down to the hotel I did not suspect a thing until we got to the room and there were the most beautiful red roses right by the door. He pretended like he had no idea why the flowers were there and actually thanked me for them. But as I wandered into the room a little farther I saw a gorgeous wooden memory box on a table with a single red rose on it. At that moment I had no idea what to do; I didn't know if I was supposed to run over to it or wait for him to say something. I walked over to it and as soon as I read the engraving on the top of the box that read "Will You Marry Me?" I burst into tears. I still don't know if it was the tears that made him nervous or if it was just the situation in general but he was and it caused him to not perfectly follow the plans that he had. Because once the tears started to come he walked over to me and said, "Wait I gotta get this out and get down on knee." So he got the ring out of his pocket and then finally asked me, "Will you marry me?" His original plan, that he had set up to do, was to have me open the memory box to find the ring box. Once I opened the ring box and saw that it was empty I would turn around to see him on one knee with the ring in his hand. All of that didn't work out but everything was still perfect!

(The attached picture is of the box and the single rose he set up for me.)
