JZ meets Aisha

JZ meets Aisha

Our story began in 2003 when we became friends through a common friend. Back then, something instantly clicked. But due to some weird twist of fate, we ended up being best friends instead of lovers. Maybe because we were still too young then.

We had a special pet name for each other - Pare. I don't remember how it first started but that's how we called one another. But even though we were really close, we couldn't really be close personally. We were both busy with work with me usually working the night shift. But thanks to technology, we managed to stay in touch through YM, text and Friendster. There was still no Facebook back then. So I had to be contented with her testi's. I guess that's the reason why we still keep our accounts open in Friendster. It has a special place in our hearts because that's how we kept in touch.

Then she went on to take her second degree (Nursing). She became busier than ever. I had a crush on her even before. I'm guessing she does too but she doesn't want to admit it. But nothing really happened because we just didn't have the time to meet up.

But during her last year in Nursing, it gave us the chance to really talk. She went on the night shift so we had the chance to really text. But still, I didn't want to make a move. I guess there's the common belief that it's not worth risking the friendship.

Fast forward to 2008. A lot of things happened during the years. It molded us to who we are right now. I guess that's why we never became a couple. The 5-6 years were better spent as bestfriends while we work on our maturity when it comes to love.

By the time we went out on our first official date, sparks were flying everywhere. We knew right then and there that we belong together. But still, both were apprehensive. I made the first move and told her that I love her. She didn't want to believe me at first although she felt the same way. I gave her the time to think about it while proving that what I was saying is true. After a few dates, the love finally prevailed. It was March 25, 2008 while we were enjoying the cool sea breeze at night at the bay behind MOA. I finally got her to say yes. We've been inseparable ever since. On our first year as a couple, I proposed to her. Why wait? I've always known that she's the girl I want to marry. Thankfully, she said yes. So now we begin our journey to forever. We started off as bestfriends, then became lovers. Whoever said that it's not possible should listen to our story. After all, we're getting married already.
