They now have a blog section! Goodie! It wasn't there when I first started, so I transferred all of the information to this part of the site. Don't hesitate to leave comments!
Tidbits of things are coming up now that people know I am getting married.
It's time to say farewell to my wedding website. We've been married for 7 months now so the talk of the wedding and celebration is getting a bit stale. I've decided to say farewell to this website and start a new blog. You can visit the blog here . www.dndracing.com/kari And check out my husband's new blog : www.dndracing.com/blog
This year I was able to get my Christmas cards finished early, VERY EARLY. I had them ready a few weeks BEFORE Thanksgiving. I'm sure almost everyone on my list has their card by now, but for those of you not on the list, I'm showcasing our 2008 card below. I was thinking the first week of December was too early to send them out, but I got tired of looking at them on the table in our office, and decided to mail them. I've only had one complaint, on the insert sheet in the Christmas...
I've decided to go all out to try to get back into shape. I have vowed to take Rockwell for a walk/jog Tuesday through Sunday mornings. During the week we'll go out from 6:30-7:00 am and on weekends we'll play the time by ear. I have been doing so-so. I'd say I average 3-4 days a week, but I just started last week! Tuesday morning when I got up and got dressed and went outside to walk Rockwell, I realized it was a little chilly so we started jogging to increase MY body heat. It was a dark,...
For four days I had the luxury of being a Hunter's Widow. This happens once a year for me when Dan goes on his now 2nd annual hunting trip "up north" with friends. Last year he went to Drummond Island, this year he hung out in the lower peninsula in Ellsworth. I do miss Dan when he is away, but there are many things that can be done when he is not at home... 1-The toilet seat remains forever down (and the lid up) because I am the only one using it! It is so nice to not be surprised by the...
I was searching through some old emails and found these great photos of my niece Avery. We'll start when she's young (and cute) and end with her Halloween pictures. She will be three in February and is the daughter of my only sibling, Dawn. She lives in Georgia. Here she shows off her best "assets" during her 1 year old birthday party. She plays with puzzles with grandma in September 2007. Picking out a pumpkin last year, October 2007. She is ready for her second birthday,...
Everyone says this is the most important election of our lives. I am hoping there are many more important elections, and that this is just the beginning of excitement over voting in America. I'm not big on politics, I don't voice my opinion, I don't follow proposals and bills, but for this election, I found my self somewhat angry. Most of the local television ads for proposal 1 and 2 seem to mislead me. After watching them I think, "I have to vote yes for stem cell research, it could save...
I remember a day when I told Dan all I wanted was for gas to be $1.97 a gallon and stay there forever. I also remember telling him I wanted gas to be $2.97 a gallon and staying at that price forever. Last week Dan called me to tell me gas was $2.19 at one of the stations in Waterford. (Too bad he drives a diesel truck). He said there may be hope for my $1.97 a gallon gas dream. Today, I heard con Channel 4's "Gas Prices to Drive 4" a station in Southeast Michigan had gas for $1.99 a...
It's Halloween and I didn't dress in costume to come to work, but Dan and I did debut our Halloween costume last Friday at a friend's party. Together we were a Booty Call. Dan's outfit was a flip cell phone, purchased at www.buycostumes.com In the phone's screen area was the following image. My costume consisted of fish net tights, black boots, a black skirt, foam butt cheeks (not visible in the photo), a black bustier trimmed in feathers, a fabulous fake white fur zip up hoodie...
I love getting the fortune in the cookies from a Chinese restaurant, even though they are often cheesy, very generic and sometimes two people at one table get the same fortune! But today my fortune cookie just made me very curious. It read: "You will be invited to a small gathering with lots of spicy conversation." I got kind of excited, wondering what I may be invited to, but more importantly what this spicy conversation would be! Would it be gossip? Ed McMahon telling me I won a million...
Most people know I love my two dogs. I love to "dress them up" as best as you can for 100+ pound dogs. Their attire is minimal, but I did get in a few shots for our Fall Harvest Photos of 2008 which included a wardrobe change! Look closely and you'll see what I mean. Rockwell is a fabulous dog to photograph. I have buzz words that will make him stop panting, perk up his ears and tilt his head. Cletus is a different story. He looks so cute with his ears up and his mouth closed, but when we...
