A little bit about us...

A little bit about us...

For those of you that don't know...

I was born in La Jolla, CA on September 19, 1982. My parents are Tim and Paige and I have a younger sister named Taylor. I lived in La Costa all my life and my parents still reside there today. I grew up playing soccer, the piano, and I love to paint. I decided to go to the University of Arizona for college after I talked with some of my neighbors who were alumni. I immediately fell in love with the school and began my freshman year there in 2000. I graduated with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Spanish. After school, I moved back home and began a job in wine/spirit sales working for a major distributor. After two years of the wine business, I packed my bags and moved up to Pasadena and started working in the pharmaceutical sales industry. I've lived in Pasadena for a little over a year and love it!

Kevin was born on March 7, 1981 in Glendale, CA. Kevin's parents are his mom Barbara, step-dad John, Dad Mahlon, and step-mother Joanne. Kevin's siblings include Steve Chinn, Jeremy Stewart, Allison Wright, Hans House, Chris House, and Kurt House. Kevin grew up playing all kinds of sports- soccer, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. He loves to go fishing and snowboarding up in Mammoth. Kevin went to the University of Arizona and graduated with a B.S. in Business Economics. He went right into Medical Device sales and currently works for Medtronic in the neurological division. He recently got promoted and we are moving to San Diego!

How we met...

How we met...

It was New Years Eve of 2003 and both Kevin and I happened to be in Mammoth Lakes celebrating with our friends. My girlfriends and I decided to go to Canyon Lodge for a party and we ran into a bunch of guys we recognized from Arizona. I immediately spotted Kevin among the group, because I had had a crush on him since my freshman year in college! We all partied the night away and I ended up giving my phone number to Kevin. He called me the next day and being the silly girl I am, I did not return his phone call because I already had a boyfriend. I was so happy he had called though...

Nine months later back in Tucson, I was on my way to a Career Fair on campus and I ran into Kevin. We just stopped and stared at each other and I was so confused because I thought he had graduated and I probably would never see him again. It wasn't until a week or so later I ran into him again at a bar. We started talking and he kept asking me out. I really wanted to go out with him but I was still with my old boyfriend. So to make this long story short, I broke up with the guy and went out with Kevin and we have been together ever since!

How he proposed...

How he proposed...

It was a cold and rainy Friday afternoon and I was getting my hair done. Kevin called to tell me we were going to dinner to celebrate his promotion and to wear something really nice. The location would also be a surprise. When I got home, he called a taxi and revealed that we were going to the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena. The hotel was beautiful- Christmas decorations everywhere. We had an amazing dinner with champagne, wine, the works. During the end of dinner, he told our waitress to send our unfinished bottle of wine over to the bar because we were going to go on a walk and come back to finish it. Go on a walk?!!! This is so not Kevin:) Kevin told me the hotel had these beautiful gardens he wanted to show me. (Which I found out later, he's never even seen!) It was FREEZING and had just rained so we were pretty much the only people outside. We came to a beautiful Japanese garden and in the middle was a little red bridge lit up with lights. So we walked over there and when we got to the middle of it, he started talking and before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!! With tears of joy of course I said yes! We went back inside and started enjoying the rest of our wine. Kevin told me he had another surprise and around the corner came our friends Justin and Judy! They were on their way to a Christmas party and Kevin had told them the news right before we left for dinner. More champagne was ordered and the whole bar was congratulating us. It was such an amazing night and I still cannot believe it!!
