I will start by saying this: we are getting married in a barn. But it is an evening wedding- and we've been getting a lot of questions about square dancing and jeans. Let me squelch those square-dancing-rumors now, and I told my dad not to wear jeans. Y'know- dress like you're going to a wedding.
We want it to be relaxed and fun, and most of all, we want there to be dancing! So wear some good shoes for that.
-It will be Florida in October, so temperatures should be in the mid 70's during the day, but really- who knows?! Expect humidity.
-The ceremony itself will be in the grass just outside the barn under some oak trees; the grounds around the whole area are lovely and walkable; and we will have an outdoor fire available as the night draws on. So, there will be some opportunities to walk on non-cemented earth. I recommend that you take those opportunities, and I do not recommend stilettos.
-The floor of the barn is hard, but is covered in a thin layer of hay. If it were me, I wouldn't wear anything that will drag the ground unless you dont care if it gets a little dirty.
-There is a non-hayed dance floor. Use it!
