We are blessed to have so many loved ones with us on our special day.
Haley and I met in college when she and our friend Julie came to my dorm room door (their freshman year at Sweet Briar College) wearing their undergarments OUTSIDE their clothing. Needless to say, we were destine to be the best of friends.
Haley keeps me sane. With her experience in counseling and her addiction to Lifetime movies she is ready to help me tackle even my largest issues; like Scout eating my bear Snuggles. I am sure she will be a great Maid of honor and will be able to solve any wedding drama that comes my way.
Unfortunately Haley has abandoned me in Virginia and resides in Florida, where she learns how to be tough and how to use dental floss as apparel. Good thing we both use sprint.
Jo is my eldest sister who I can always count on to be level headed and supportive. She is also my go to person when I need to know the proper etiquette for any social event.
Jo is hard a working person and is always looking for the good in others and situations. I am blessed to have her as my sister and as a Matron of Honor.
Ps. If you ever need a hygiene basket for travel or for a gift, Joanna knows how to put together a rockin' basket.
Jackie is my jet setter of a sister. Once she was able to leave the nest she has made sure to spend her time experiencing the world. I admire her ability to adapt to any situation in any country and her generosity when I am able to come visit her.
Jackie is always willing to challenge my perspectives and I appreciate her honesty when speaking to her.
I am lucky that she will be able to travel from Paris to be part of this special day.
If Donny wasn't born between us, I would almost swear that Sarah and I were meant to be twins.
Sarah is my other half in life. Although our social situations couldn't be more different our personalities are spot on. When talking to her I feel like I am talking to myself; and it's HILARIOUS.
Sarah is always on top of what is fashionable and knows the most interesting places to be or go and I am always excited to hear what she is going to do next.
Be ready for Sarah on the dance floor at the reception. As my students would say she is going to "kill it."
Hollie and I began our friendship in middle school when we did a project together for the science fair that was horribly flawed. From then Hollie and I have remained close friends no matter how far apart we are.
As Hollie has become more successful in her modeling career in N.Y. she has not lost sight of those around her who have always been there for her. When speaking to her on the phone I have to make sure I have at least two hours two spare and that I am prepared to have my side hurting from the laughter. Even though we only see each other once a year it's as if we had never left Columbus.
Hollie has an honest and down to earth heart and I am excited to take her from the city to enjoy the fresh air of the Blue Ridge.
If I could put every intelligent comedian together inside a bombshell of a body you'd have Lori. I met Lori my freshman year at Sweet Briar and although she transferred after her sophomore year, she remains to be one of my favorite parts about college.
Although Lori is best known for her witty comments, and grade "A" zingers, she has always been there for me to lean on. When we speak on the phone my face hurts from all the laughter that we share... I could not ask for a better friend.
Jeff McDonald has always been a central figure in David's life. Jeff has played many roles in my life: father, friend, confidant, mentor, and even brewer--there's not much that Jeff doesn't know how to do.
Will and I first met in college when I would harass Will's room mate for his hot pot so I could make my evening ramen. Shortly after a Bromance blossomed that centered on our mutual love of Yengling Black and Tan--so cheap, so delicious--and the nintendo game Jackal.
Will and I's friendship continued through College and after. Will offered much needed humor and support while David was being abused in Japan and abused later on in grad school.
I have always valued Will's down to earth opinions, animated story telling, and extended use of hyperbole.
GW and I first met in High School, but we really didn't get to know each other until we both attended Hampden-Sydney College. GW, who has a special love of turkey flavored water, and I bonded over beer, family guy, raptor high fives, and extended sessions of internet gaming. Basically we nerded out. Hard. Our friendship even endured a short but ferocious battle between diabetics and non-diabetics which ended in an unfortunate but necessary act of grafitti.
Our friendship continued throughout college and after, and I continue to value Gw's caring and intellectual personality in a totally hetrosexual manner.
Mark McDonald and I both slid down the same birth canal. Mark and I have beat each other up, supported one another through rough times, worked with one another, studied with one another, had fun with one another and have really, truly been brothers. I know that Mark will always be an important part of my life.
Not only is Donny Kimberly's brother, he is also a legend at his local Columbus putt-putt for his head-turning hole-in-ones. I am looking forward to having him as a brother-in-law and getting to know him better.
Hilary is my one true Southern friend. Although she always stays busy with new ways to break through that glass ceiling, Hilary is always up to getting together and sharing her beautiful laugh with me.
Hilary has always believed in mine and David's relationship from day one. For our wedding the focus is on sharing our love and commitment with each other with those that we love, because of that we couldn't imagine hiring a random person to officiate. So, when Hilary half-jokingly suggest she marry us I said, "BRILLIANT!" Hilary and her husband Matthew have a beautiful relationship that is honest and loving. We feel that having Hilary officiate our wedding will create a genuine and loving environment to begin our journey through marriage.
