Yes that's right we actually did meet on craigslist. You see I had been longing to find more friends and especially ones that loved to go out and take photos. I needed a photography partner! I knew craigslist was sketchy...it still is and I would never recommend anyone to do it but I was prompted to type up an post.
So I did and of course I got a bunch of weird replies, some good ones, and then there was Lance's! From that 1st email I received I was very intrigued and there was just something about this guy that I liked! So we both exchanged emails for quite some time and then took the step to meet.
Our 1st date was at the Evergreen Fair and we both had an awesome time! From then on we kept in contact and started dating more. And I have never been happier!
And just so you know it was Brian who made Lance check out craigslist... If it wasn't for him we'd never have met. Thanks Brian!!
Lance decided for his birthday that he wanted to go to Ocean Shores and because it was his birthday I seriously had no clue whatsoever what he was planning. We were both bummed though because we had left so late and had missed most of our Sunshine. Once there we found a hotel and got situated. We then got suited up to go swimming in the FREEZING ocean! Both Lance and I had a ton of fun but with the sun setting and it getting cloudy it got colder fast. So we jumped out to get ready for some dinner.
Once warmed up and ready for dinner Lance kept trying to get out as quickly as possible. "Hurry we've gotta catch that sunset!" And yes still I didn't know what was going on! So we ran over to get some pizza. It was some awesome pizza but I kept reminding Lance that if we needed to catch the Sunset we needed to go NOW. He didn't seem to care that much but after our 2nd slice of pizza we both took off.
While I grabbed the items I needed to photograph the Sunset Lance went to his car to get something. I looked out and noticed him on the phone and still didn't think anything of it. (he was talking to my parents lol) I told him we needed to hurry up and go so we could catch the sunset!
Well by the time he got off we pretty much missed the sunset but we still wanted to go drive out on the beach and watch and photograph what light was left. While drive up on the beach I noticed Lance getting a bit upset because some people had taken "HIS" spot. I assured him there were many other places and not to get too upset over it. Again mind you I had NO clue what was going on.
We pulled out towards the ocean and got out to take some photographs of some birds chilling near the water. We spent a good while there which was my fault not knowing what was happening. So when we got back in the car and drove down further Lance found another spot of his liking. We pulled in front of it and Lance jumped out quickly while I was still getting some things taken care of.
Little did I know Lance was running behind and placing the wooden heart on the log for me to find. After taking some photos of the huge stump turned on its side he told me to come over and took the camera and shot some photos himself. Then told me to sit on the log near the wooden heart. Still I had NO clue what was going on. lol
The sun had pretty much set and there was hardly any light left making it very hard to see this wooden heart. It blended in with the stump I was sitting on! He tried getting me to move closer but I didn't want to get poked in the face by the tree roots from the stump and I thought it was creepy. So he went in font of me and pushed me over a bit closer to the heart. At that time a stick jabbed my ankle and it was a good opportunity for him to get me to see the heart.
Yeah didn't happen very well so he started pushing me closer and tapping on the other side of the heart and at that time I noticed it! SERIOUSLY I had no clue what was going on and I even thought it was a heart that someone else had left like one of those messages in a bottle type of thing. So I said "aww look Lance someone left their heart here! That's cute".
He tells me to open it and I tried looking for the spot to open. I guess I was taking too long cuz Lance just took it out of my hands and opened it. Then he told me to hold my hand out and wait for whatever it was inside the heart to come out. I of course wasn't going to have anything to do with this! I didn't know where it came from! "Ewww no Lance I don't want to! I don't know where it cam...." and by that time the Ring finally came out and I was seriously thinking "Oh crap...thats a...? he's proposing to me?!"
I was so shocked by it all I really didn't know what to feel or really what to say. So when he asked the question I quickly thought of my mom and her story of how she kept my dad waiting for an answer so I said "Maybe!" LOL
We later took some photos, played with the glow in the dark balls, and then laid out and star gazed until I was too cold.
