I'm not exactly sure what has made me put this off till the last minute but I guess my job has been extremely overwhelming and I have been stressed to the max. If you think working for a "media" company is a walk in the park you would be sadly mistaken. By the time I come home from being up since 4:00 AM all I want to do is come home and take a long nap or go to bed for the night. So if I could blame not booking our honeymoon until last week on anything… that would be it. Not that I drove myself crazy trying to pick the best island for the money by reading a million reviews or anything. Trip Advisor is my new best friend. That's not a bad thing is it? Maybe? You can worry yourself sick because of all of the crazy/good reviews there are on literally everything. Finally I just buckled down and chose an island and went from there. Long story short, we are now planning to leave for Sunset at the Palms All Inclusive Resort in Negril, Jamaica. We leave the Tuesday after the wedding… Lane can't be gone from the Clinton Livestock Auction on a Monday don't you know?
As far as getting everything ready for the big day it has been pretty easy. I worry that it won't look as nice as I want it…. but Hobby Lobby is a life saver! I am making all of the mason jar decorations, centerpieces, bridesmaid bouquets… etc. and I am actually proud of them! Hopefully next month I won't have to run down there ten times in a day and I'll have everything I need. I feel like I own my own hobby lobby store in our spare bedroom.
Not only did we book the honeymoon last week… I also took my bridal portraits at my Grandi's house. Grandi and Pop mean the world to me so it is very special for:
A. Me take photos in front of her rose bushes
B. We're getting Married on Grandi's birthday
C. Pop will walk me down the aisle
I felt sorry for my Pop though…. I had the bright idea to rent an antique scroll back couch from the Arkansas Peddler. When I saw it I fell in love with it. I think it is so retro and I wanted to put it in a field of buttercups with me and my dress. So, that's exactly what we did. Bless his heart, he had to go up there and load it with the neighbor, Bill all while I got ready in the nice AC at the house. I prayed for perfect weather… and I think Bubba helped spread the message to the Good Lord… because that is exactly what we had. Now, if we can just make it perfect with NO WIND for June 15th…. my life will be complete! HA!
