Once upon a time, there were two students from California University.

Ian was a Computer Information Systems major who grew up in Penn Hills. His family moved to Apollo during his sophomore year of college. Ian received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Informations Systems and currently works on campus for a computer lab called the Multimedia Access Center, where he makes web sites for student organizations.

Lauren was a Nursing major who grew up and still lives in Belle Vernon. She has received her degree in Nursing and is working towards getting her licence to practice. She has worked at Shop and Save since she was 16 years old, and she still works there currently.

In the spring of 2008, Lauren and Ian did not know each other, but took the same class in college that semester. The class was about French culture, and involved a lecture period that lasted a few weeks, ending with a dinner and presentation then a trip to France over Spring Break. Surprisingly, Lauren and Ian never said a word to each other during the lecture period.

They never officially met until Detroit airport, where they managed to get seats next to each other on the flight to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France. Lauren thought Ian was a huge nerd at first (she was right), because all he mostly did was play on his "game thigie" and watch weird movies during the flight. He even got airsick and threw up while sitting next to her, leaving Lauren to nurse him back to health (gather napkins from other passengers)What a dork!

At the first hotel, they didn't talk much, but since Ian recognized her and her friend, Danielle, he hung out with them during tours and free time.

The next week took them all over France, from chateaus to vineyards, wine cellars to Parisian side streets. They were basically inseparable. Lauren was falling for him, but Ian, like any other guy, was dense as a brick. He had no idea he was being idolized, and even missed out on some nights out on the town because "there was no way he'd want to come."

When the trip ended, they went their own seperate ways; Lauren went home with her dad and friends while Ian drove home to an empty mattress and (true story) got sick after sleeping under his winter jacket for three days.

Lauren friended Ian on Facebook, and Ian asked Lauren out to eat at Eat n' Park where he met Lauren's best friends, Launa and Krista, and they had a great time. Lauren and Ian continued to see each other that whole week, where they would hang out and watch movies together. They officially started dating on March 24th, 2008.

On March 22nd, 2010, Ian took Lauren to Cedar Creek Park where they often visited after work. They watched the river for a few minutes, and then went to a swing set that was secluded from the rest of the pavilions. Ian said he had a gift for Lauren, and ran to his car. He made Lauren close her eyes, and when she opened them, he was down on one knee, asking to be with her forever.

She said yes!
