I picked up my dress on July 15th and fell in love with it all over again! I've added a couple of pics below of me actually wearing it to the photo gallery section. Please excuse the garbagey/MySpace portraity quality of them...taking photos of yourself in a low light situation is hard. Either way, you will get the idea. I am still ISO a place to take it for alterations. (Sleeves need to be taken in, and it needs to be hemmed and bustled.)
I will be ordering Tiffany's dress at the end of the summer.
As far as the groom's attire is concerned, it's looking like we will be purchasing online from WeddingTropics.com. He will be wearing a linen shirt with linen pants. I've started looking around for him, but obviously he has the final say.
Here is the dress that has received the Maid of Honor stamp of approval. (The one on the right obviously.) It's by Eden and it's made of chiffon so it will be nice and comfortable in case it's hot. The dress will primarily be pistachio with the satin belt in chocolate.
This dress has completely taken over my mind.
It was the first one that I ever pulled off the rack and every dress I tried on after was being gauged against it. It took 4 stores and what seemed like 200 of the wrong dress to make me realize that absolutely nothing that I try on will look better on me then this one will. It has the perfect amount of beading on it and the material is nice and light so it will be perfect for a beach wedding. Also, I expect it will travel very nicely.
Dress shopping was a little weird because I didn't realize that I would be swimming in about 99% of the dresses I tried on. It makes sense now, but it was hard for me to get a clear picture of what I would look like in something when it was held together in the back with industrial sized clips. This is a Jacquelin dress and I ordered it in the size that I tried on in the store. It barely needs to be altered at all (the straps need to be taken in a bit and that's it). I wish I had some photos of it on me, but that will have to wait for the first fitting in a few months. The store I purchased from did not allow for pictures. (Why? I have no idea.)
SO EXCITED! I LOVE IT!!!!!
I know, I know. I've done this twice before already, but I promise this is the last time. I decided I didn't want to deal with dyeing shoes and the website from before never got my size of those other ones in. So I decided to go silver and blingy. I thought it would be a nice compliment to my cap sleeves and a nice finishing touch since my dress is completely devoid of embellishments after the strip of shiny at the waistline.
So I BOUGHT THEM on September 18th. It's about damn time. Now I don't have to think about shoes anymore.
Just an overhead shot of the prettiness.
White linen. The embroidery will be in green.
In dark khaki linen.
