Lena: Natasha is my sister and has truly been my friend through the years... well, maybe except for a couple! :) I can never imagine going through something like this without her standing by my side. She has been through identical experiences and has been my mentor through the years and for that I am so greatful. It's no wonder that I can't think of anyone else in the world taking the spot of maid of honor in my wedding. I love her!
Ira is Lena's childhood best friend. Back in Russia Ira transferred to Lena's school and ended up sitting next to Lena and that's how the friendship began. Lena and Ira were best friends and did everything together - many, many hilarious adventures. Needless to say that it was very tough to part when Lena moved to United States. Amazingly the two have been able to stay in touch even when parted by an ocean - that's true friendship. Every couple of years Ira and Lena plan a trip and see each other for a couple of weeks. Lena went back to Russia in 2004 and stayed with Ira, the two met in 2006 for a Euro trip and finally now Ira is coming out to United States to share this moment with us. This friendship will last a lifetime without a doubt. We appreciate Ira making the trip and are looking forward to her meeting Aaron and showing her around Chicago.
Aaron: Even though Mike and I have known each other for a relatively short time, we have become close. He has gone out of his way on many occasions to help not only myself and Lena, but all of the family. His relationship with Natasha is very much like that of Lena and I and we can connect on many levels.
Mike, thanks for everything that you have done for us and I know that you are the man for the job.
Lena: Megan and I met in high school. I played cards with her at a high school party and then used to try to talk to her at our lockers. She didn't remember me from the party, but I desparately wanted to be her friend and I got to. By the end of high school she was one of my closest friends. She won best personality in our high school and that's very true when you get to know her. Her energy, personality, and voice (hehe) fills any room she's in! She is a very loyal friend and she will go out of her way to help anybody. Megan quickly became friends with Aaron and I am so happy she will be there to share our special day with us! BUDDY!!
Aaron: Lee's been my friend since the very first day of kindergarten ("do you wanna be my friend?!"). After 20+ years, he's still one of my closest friends and we always have a great time together. He's a good guy and always looking out for his friends. I really appreciate him being there for me on my wedding day.
Lena: Though Jenny and I started out with negative impressions, we've grown to become close friends. Our friends say that her and I have our own language. Most of the time we understand what the other is talking about mid-sentence. Jenny is a very lighthearted person and is usually the life of the party. Though we live far away, I know that we'll continue to be close. I am honored to have her in my wedding.
Nick has been a great friend since I moved to Germantown in 8th grade. He made every effort to make me feel at home since my first day at Valley View. We've shared many great times together and I can't picture our wedding without him there. It's pretty cool to see each of our lives coming together over the years - congrats to him and his new wife, Jen and best of luck with your new family!
Aaron: Being the closest in age, Kris and I were always very close while growing up. He has always been there to challenge me and keep me motivated. He has always offered to lend a hand even when he has to go out of his way. Kris is more than a cousin, he's a good friend and I'm glad that he's agreed to be one of my groomsmen.
