The Old Mill
Old Mill Lane
Rose Valley, PA
E-mail Lindsay for the map's password.
The Old Mill was built in 1789 along the grounds of Ridley Creek and became the center of a very small community known as Rose Valley. The importance of the mill to the history of Rose Valley is reflected in the name of the community, taken from the wild roses which grow in profusion around the mill. It produced snuff, "fever medicine" from local tree bark, paper and finally textiles.
In 1901 a visionary architect named William L. Price bought the property which had been deserted. Price established a colony of artists and craftsmen with a dream to preserve their skills and handcrafts which were being rapidly displaced by the Industrial Revolution. Thus, Price had created a "hub" for these artists to produce unique, hand-crafted, Gothic-style furniture at the mill.
Lindsay's Mom swears that the Old Mill gets chilly in the evenings. Now's your opportunity to wear that fabulous wrap or jacket.

No Macarena.com will play all kinds of great music, so wear comfortable shoes or ditch 'em! Maybe you won't need that extra layer after all.
