If you're going to stand up and take the leap worth waiting for, you have to have the best possible people to stand up with you.
Alex has perfected the ability of getting people to like him. He's 9 years old and he glows like Paris. Let's just hope he doesn't lose the rings.
Lindsay's brother Ted is noble, honest, wise and focused. He will be using his keen intelligence, analytical skills and crafty wit for the following wedding responsibilities: walking his & Lindsay's Mom down the aisle, videotaping the ceremony and reception (if you see him with a camera, give him a wave), and making sure that everyone who has a posed photo session gets to the photographer on time. If you see him, give him a pat on the back.
Carolyn and Lindsay met in the bowels of South Street, trying to save the world through alternative theatre. They co-produced Mixed Drinks in the 2003 Philly Fringe and continue to amaze. Carolyn has saved Lindsay's life by giving her the Heimlich manuever at the Black Sheep Pub (for the record, it was not alcohol, it was a bite of sausage. Meat is murder).
It's hard to quantify a 26-year friendship. Lina and Lindsay survived puberty, Friends education and kayaking together. She holds a doctorate in Political Science and runs marathons. She sure plays a mean pinball.
Vince's sister has BEAUTIFUL skin. She also has the heart of a child. In a jar, on her desk.
Angie and Lindsay have had enough 4-pack-of-cigarette-pots-and-pots-of-coffee conversations to stun a buffalo. She makes a Vespa look good and a trapeze look better.
If it weren't for him, Vince wouldn't be here.
Vince and Terrence have been friends since before anyone knew the truth about Freddie Mercury, and that's a long time. Terrence can play, build or repair ANYTHING. Almost anything. As a result, NASA has installed a chip in his brain to study him. Please don't tell him, it'll ruin the experiment.
Scott and Vince survived many years as working musicians together. Scott currently plays in 12 bands and wears a hockey helmet so he can feel safe.
Joyce Tompkins is the Religious Advisor to the Campus Protestant Community at Swarthmore College. Her recent article, Whoever is not against us is for us is just a drop of her well of warmth, humor and commitment to diversity, tolerance and making the world a better place. She is infinitely huggable.
When Lindsay's play Would You Be Mine was publicly criticized for having all the charm of a soap opera, Gerre defended her by saying that Lindsay's style is neo-post-modern absurdism. You cannot beat that. Gerre is an actress, director and teacher, so she should know.
Christie knows how it feels to be Real.
There is no 13. I'm supersititious.
If you recall Lindsay and Carolyn's Fringe 2003 hit, Mixed Drinks, you remember Inspector Truesdale-Whitlock, who stole the show and accused Edgar of murder. Mark doesn't remember it well, but we won't make him do the same monologue again.
Jill is an internationally renowned vocalist, performing with the Industrial Jazz Group. Sometimes she has antennae.
Joe and Lindsay met via Jill and have made shows in Philly good. He's a musical director for various theater companies, teaches and prog-rocks with the band XFusion.
Alex and Matt will be your ushers for this wedding. They will tell you where the bathroom is and where not to sit. Alex is an award-winning playwright and Matt is an illustrator. In the event of an emergency, Alex will write you a haiku and Matt will draw you a "Get Well Soon" card.
