Our Story

Liz & Brian

The Bride & Groom to be
Liz & Brian

Marathoners. Triathletes. Ironman Finishers. Roommates and red-wine sippers.

Liz and Brian met through Team in Training, the marathon training program of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Liz was an employee of the society assigned to the South Bay Marathon Team, and Brian was a volunteer assistant coach for the same team.

They met and started working together in November and by December, Brian asked if Liz had plans for New Year's but she didn't take the hint. Soon into the new year, Liz started bringing an extra coffee to morning marathon practices just for Coach Brian, but this time it was he that didn't take the hint.

It wasn't until they both showed up single to the Valentine's Day group run that they knew there was a connection. After the run, Brian invited Liz for a homemade dinner of spagetti and turkey sauce over at his bachelor pad in Redondo Beach. The two immediately hit it off and have been inseparable ever since.

Since they did work together they kept their relationship fairly hush hush for close to an entire year!

In the past three years together, they've helped to train hundreds of people connected to blood cancers to cross the finish line dozens of marathon races, and to raise thousands of dollars in the process for the cause close to both their hearts.

They've trained themselves for several endurance events and most recently, they fundraised over $12,000, trained 9 months and completed the Vineman Ironman Triathlon(2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 marathon)together with Brian's close friend Aaron Umber.

Just a few short days after the Ironman, Brian proposed to Liz at the Korbel Champagne Vineyard nestled in Sonoma County, California!
