How We Met:
It all started one night sometime in September 2005 when my phone rang and the guy introduced himself as Seun Adebayo and that my friend had just given him my number. We didn’t hit it off with the first conversation and the next couple of calls after that made no difference either. I was usually very cold on the phone and he was not persistent either. We met a few weeks after that when he showed up at my door in Ibadan and still there was no connection. Infact he would say the wrong things and I always ended up being upset on the phone.
And then I came to Lagos sometime in October 2005 to spend some time with my friend and he asked to come around to see me. I was not interested in us hooking up so I refused to give him the address. To my surprise and utter amazement, he persisted, using up his airtime and recharging his phone over and over again. I eventually gave in to his request and the following day he showed up. We went on a date at Terraculture and somehow did have a good conversation. That weekend I must say marked the turning point in the story, as no day has passed since then that we haven’t talked and of course he’s said the very right things ever since. He says he realized that I might just slip away that weekend and he wasn’t just ready to loose me.
Need I say that the journey’s been wonderful since then and it can only get better. Falling in love with each other has been nothing less than a beautiful experience for us, almost a fairytale and we are grateful to God for every bit of the relationship. It has indeed been a time of teaching, of sharing, of growing and of loving.
I christened her Oreoluwa, which means “a gift from God” because she is that to me and more. Loving her comes to me so naturally for indeed she completes me. She’s given to me love without measure, care without reservations and friendship in all its purity. Her support has been of immense value and the reality of sharing the rest of my life with her gives me all the confidence that the future can only be bliss.
Lolade was born to the wonderful family of Mr & Mrs Adedayo Ajakaiye on the 29th 0f December 1981. The humility and simplicity of her dad never ceases to amaze me and I am so proud to become his son-in-law. She grew up and schooled both in Akure and Ibadan, then moved to Lagos for her service year in 2006. Now a Solicitor in a Law Firm, the combination of her brilliance, beauty and strength is to me simply “priceless”.
Meeting her has been a life changing experience for me as she has touched my life in so many ways, truly a source of encouragement and the cornerstone of my happiness.
What more could I possibly ask for……….
Oluwaseunara’s journey to this world began on the 15th of May 1975. Born and raised by Mr and Mrs Adebayo Ukanah, Seun spent most of his growing up years in Ibadan. University education however took him to Calabar and he never ceases to tell me about its beautiful scenery. Presently working in a bank in lagos, Oluwaseun has indeed moulded himself into a fine young man notwithstanding the absence of a father while growing up (having lost his dad at a very tender age ). I give the credit to God and his wonderful Mum who has done such a good job of raising him.
He’s a God fearing man whose love and faith in Christ has been a constant inspiration and motivation for me. So goal oriented, determined and full of life, Oluwaseun does not consider any dream impossible. His favourite phrases have been “Much More” and “Through God, we shall do valiantly”. Been a very family oriented person, time spent with family and friends is always exciting for him.
His caring and giving nature never ceases to overwhelm me and trust me I wouldn’t be wrong to say he is sweetness personified. Ever going the extra mile to make me happy, his love for me truly amazes me. He’s made me believe in myself more than ever and he never fails to make me realize how priceless I am.
I am indeed blessed to have him as mine and I’m thankful to God for giving me this wonderful gift called Oluwaseunara.
