After five (FIVE !!! LOL) years, after going over our website countless of times since before, during and after the 27 October 2007 wedding, I HAVE JUST REALIZED that I FORGOT to add my Sister, Rhonda, to the listing of the Wedding Party Page!

After a five year oversight, Rhonda (The Ceremony Passage Reader) has finally been added to the list !

Hey, another message from me, one year after the last one that I had left under Registries ! Yep, we still update stuff here because, believe or not, people still get a kick out of reading it, so, may as well continue to add informative tidbits!

I wanted to comment on the changes made (a couple of things ... well, four lol) concerning the "Engaged? Need to know Websites" section of our Journals page below ....

One of the listings has changed names (NOT website address) - WeddingClipart became WeddingDNA in late 2008 and is now (May 2010) One Heart Weddings. Again, same website address as always, same company, just a new Website NAME.

I have FINALLY corrected the website address for Kettlecreek Weddings - yes, I know that I misspelt Kettlecreek (as the wrong Ke"dd"lecreek) and I did, all along, know its correct spelling - I must have done it during the wee hours of the morning entrenched creating the website setup three years ago, saw it - knew I had to correct the address, but never got around to it. Now I did - been fixed.

The "invitestyles" address has been updated to the "invitationsbydawn". Parent company Invitations By Dawn phased out Classic Canadian Weddings and Blush about two years ago, thus, becoming the lone company. So, with a new webpage comes a new web address. To compensate, I added competitor Classic Wedding Treasurers to the listings as well. So there (lol).

Conde Nast, sadly, due to financial costs, had to discontinue Modern Bride and Elegant Bride a year ago (October/November 2009 and Fall 2009 respectively). As a result, my listing for Brides.com now refers to only Brides magazine.

At this reaching of the "one year to the wedding" timemarker, successful completion of certain items is reality. Officially, as of today, the following deeds have been finalized and done (the Month when achieved) - keep in mind - Engaged 0115 EST May 5, 2006 :

Our Wedding Party - finalized and complete (June 2006) (Note : Amendment was needed due to illness of dear friend Sundaie - made August 2007)

The Church for the Ceremony - FIRST UNITED, ST THOMAS, ON (August 2006)
The Reception - ST THOMAS G&CC, UNION, ON and essentials we created for our individual tastes for the Reception (September 2006)
The Photographer - PREM DILIWARI of MISSISSAUGA, ON (September 2006)
The Tux Locale - MOORES, (Originally OAKVILLE, ON then transferred to LONDON, ON when Jim moved to the London area in February 2007) (October 2006)

Pretty Good, eh? And all BEFORE today, the year-to-go mark, was reached !

The only major things really left are the next-to-final/final meetings with the Vendors (Photographer, Videographer, Reception, Church, etc.), Lori to finalize her Gown specifications, me to work on the final product for the Wedding Day documentation before preliminary printing begins tentatively August 2007/FINAL PRINTING around October 14, 2007, as well as, most importantly, obtaining the Marriage License.

Our advice to newly engaged couples - "HIT THE GROUND RUNNING" ----- simply GIVE YOURSELF A FAIR BIT OF TIME BETWEEN THE DATE YOU GOT ENGAGED AND WEDDING DAY (AT LEAST A YEAR).

AT LEAST A YEAR - YA GOT IT?!? LOL :)

Also, THE SOONER YOU ARE ABLE TO COMPLETE MAJOR ITEMS FOR THE WEDDING, THE BETTER OFF YOU WILL BE - believe us, we were VERY THANKFUL that we were able to tackle and resolve major wedding plans early on and not wait until the last minute to do them. You WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW MANY ITEMS SEEM TO APPEAR when the wedding day is almost upon you.

In short, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY WISE (lol) INDIVIDUALS give themselves ample time to plan - and - tackle and complete as much of the major components of the wedding preparation as soon as possible just after getting engaged and not have it wait until mere weeks before the wedding.
