We started shopping for our bridal shoot package at the beginning of the year. As Jessie is quite familiar with this, since she has helped some of her friends & cousins with this, we have some basic ideas on the package that meets our expectations.
We went on a bridal shopping for a while. On one fine day, we visited a bridal fair in Mid Valley where we enquired a few packages at different booths. We finally visited one booth, Mon'liza, where we were both very impressed with the quality of the photos exhibited plus excellent customer service provided by its staff. We were fortunate to be attended by Mon'liza's owner, Irene, where she explained in great deal of details about the services they offer. Upon agreeing on a basic package, we signed up on the spot.
Our shooting day...
We have fixed 17 July 2007 for our bridal shoot. I remember staying up till quite late, when I was supposed to go to bed early, preparing my clothing for the shoot & packing some snacks & drinks for both of us in case we were hungry during the long-day shoot.
I went to fetch Jessie early in the morning. We reached the bridal house around 9am where Jessie started her make-up session, by Mr One the make-up artist, while I went to buy breakfast for both of us.
Our first stop was the outdoor venue, where we selected FRIM for this. It took us almost half a day for the outdoor shooting, before we went back for lunch around late noon.
The outdoor shooting was really exciting. The indoor shoot was equally as interesting, as we took photos at many different settings in the bridal house. Our photographer, Michael, was very professional.
As it was Jessie's birthday, Irene & I arranged for a surprise party for her where Irene presented her a cake while we were shooting at one of the sets.
Both our families joined us in the evening for a family photo session. After that we continued with our last few shots. The whole shooting ended around 8pm and we're already very exhausted.
We only managed to have our dinner at McDonald's nearby the bridal house after the shoot before we went home.
That was a really precious experience & full of excitement. We were smiling & posing the whole day that our face muscles were aching.
Our second outdoor shooting...
After viewing the photos, we thought of adding some additional shots to our basic package. Therefore, we decided to go for a second shooting session on 11 September. This time we selected Carcosa, thanks to Carla, our friend working in the hotel.
It was a half day session & since we already had some experience from the previous shoot, we were quite natural in our posing & thus making Michael's job much more easier.
The photos turned out to be very good & we were both very impressed that we decided to use many of these shots in our album. So, all the exhaustion & tiredness were well paid off.
We had our Registration of Marriage (ROM) at the Maha Vihara Buddhist Temple in KL. We had the blessing ceremony at the Shrine Hall by Ven. K. Dhammaratana Thera before going to the Registrar of Marriage's office for the registration ceremony.
We would like to thank all of our family & friends who attended the event to make our special day even more colourful.
We are both members of the Buddha Light International Association (BLIA), of Fo Guang Shan (FGS). Our main activity centre is Sentul Meditation Centre in KL. Dong Zhen is the HQ of FGS in Malaysia, situated in Jenjarom, Selangor.
