Latest shower and more
Several of my wonderful friends in Columbus, mostly from CGSA, held a shower for me last week. It was awesome!!! There was so much great food and desserts to enjoy, we played a really fun game, we got to talk and catch up, everyone helped me put together the wedding invitations, and there were so many awesome gifts as well! still moving along
Things are coming together for the wedding, which is great. Last weekend, we picked wedding vows and ceremony music and ordered our wedding bands, and this week I finished the invitations and got them copied today. And a few weeks ago, my bridesmaids threw a wonderful bridal shower for me back in Pittsburgh. It was great to see friends and family again, some of whom I have not seen in a long time. And it's just so exciting to have people coming together to celebrate me...
double digits
Less than 100 days to go before the wedding... and we're both more than ready for it to be here already, I think. I'm completely stressed out and scatterbrained, but not because of wedding planning... I'm also trying to pass my candidacy exams before Thanksgiving. Our wedding registries are mostly finished; we've just been adding a few things here and there. (I just added a car snow brush and ice scraper... God knows we'll need it ;) We know what we're doing for invitations...
Relocating

Mmmmm, cake.
Some of you who have been in Columbus for a while are surely familiar with the delights of the fresh strawberry cake. And others may be saying, what are you talking about? Well, I have good news for all of you. Today I ordered enough fresh strawberry cake for about 200 people, so there should be plenty for everyone-- yet another reason to come join us in this awesome celebration! ;) If you haven't had it, trust me, it really is good enough to make the title...
Halfway...
As of a few days ago, our engagement was halfway over. Luke and I both can't wait until it is over, for many reasons... one of the main reasons being that we won't be living in different states any longer! Right now we are working on lots of wedding-related details... registries, thank you cards for shower gifts, wedding party (and our) attire, cake, finding a hotel for guests to stay in, reception songs, etc. Some of the more exciting things that have happened...
First wedding shower!
Last weekend, Luke and I were in Wisconsin to see family and friends, and his family threw us a wedding shower! It was a very nice time. We had quite a spread with all different kinds of delicious food as well as cake and even brandy slush. And the weather was just perfect for sitting outside, although there were so many people in attendance that we had to split our time between sitting with the folks outside and the ones inside! 1/3 through!
As of this week, we are 1/3 of the way through our engagement! I think this is pretty exciting and am just not going to think about the part that means we have 2/3 to go. :P I think it will go pretty fast, though. For one thing, that's what everyone keeps telling us. For another thing, there is so much to do for the wedding planning and so much going on in the rest of our lives that even this first 1/3 has truly flown by. It is hard to believe it is almost...
