Accommodations

UPDATE: It may look like the hotels are sold out online, but be sure and call and mention our block. Rooms are being held for the group under our last names and should be available until April.

We blocked rooms at the two hotels listed below because they are moderately priced and have nice rooms. If you would prefer a bargain stay, there's a Motel 6 directly behind the Black Oak and a Travelodge nearby. And if you would like something a little nicer, there's a La Quinta Inn on Buena Vista Drive that is a bit nicer (sort of businessperson fancy) and there's a luxury hotel called La Bellasera that's closer to downtown.

The wedding trolley will pick up and drop off guests at the Black Oak and the Adelaide Inn (these two hotels are right next to each other). Any folks staying at the Motel 6 can easily walk over and catch a ride. It can also make a stop at the La Quinta Inn on the way to the winery, but please let us know if you plan to stay there and would like to ride the trolley.

Adelaide Inn

The Adelaide Inn is where we like to stay on our visits to Paso Robles. It has some of the most reasonable prices around and the rooms are clean and surprisingly big with really comfy beds! There are all kinds of charming things about staying at the Adelaide--like the fresh cookies when you check in, the stacks of novels they leave in the rooms for guests to borrow, the posters from old wine festivals, and the pool surrounded by tropical plants.

The inn will likely be booked up our wedding weekend, so we have reserved a block of rooms under our names

The inn will likely be booked up our wedding weekend, so we have reserved a block of rooms under our names "Ziegler/Maraschino." The rate for a king bed is $116.10 plus tax and the rate for two queens is $125.10 plus tax. Parking and internet are free and they always give us each a $5 coupon to use for breakfast at Margie's diner next door. We've booked about half the rooms for Thursday as well, in case you would like to come up early and do some extra wine tasting. The block will only be available through April so try not to wait too long to reserve your room!

The Black Oak is a Best Western "Plus," which means it's a little fancier than regular Best Westerns, but it's still a pretty good deal. Cliff and I have stayed there and the rooms are comfortable and clean. They have a diner on-site called Margie's, which serves absurdly large omelets and every guest gets a $5 coupon toward their breakfast. They have a wide selection of room types and we've blocked a variety, including some smoking rooms under "Ziegler/Marachino." Because the rooms vary, so do the prices, but they will give you the best price they offer when you mention our block. You'll probably find that, during the summer, the prices are a bit higher than at the Adelaide, but they have some larger "deluxe" rooms to choose from. If you have a AAA card, be sure and mention it.
