The Wedding Party...
Megan is one of my best friends. We have known each other since we were younger because of sports but my junior year and her senior year, I got to know Megan a lot better and we instantly were great friends. Although she is my maid of honor, I think that she could easily be speaking on the other side of the table for Keith as well. We always joke that they are more like siblings than anything! Megan's personality makes her so much fun to be around and there is NEVER a dull moment with her. I am looking forward to having her help me plan the wedding. She is currently in grad school at the University of Iowa for speech pathology.
Steph and I were rivals in high school, but freshman year of college at Central we became roommates and instant best friends! She is like my long-lost sister. Steph and I have shared so many memories together, especially for only knowing each other well for 4 years! Some fun memories include Florida spring break, long night talks, Keith ruining my stereo, running up the stairs, etc. Even though she transfered to the dark side (ISU) her sophomore year, we have remained as close as ever :) I am excited for the upcoming months of planning with Steph! She is currently a senior at ISU and preparing for law school next fall.
Jenna and I have known each other ever since before I can remember. We have always been great friends and have shared so many memories together, starting with ASA softball! Her family has always been my 2nd family and I have very fond memories of the two of us through the years. Every time I am around her, I remember why she is such an amazing friend. I could not imagine standing up there on my wedding day without Jenna standing next to me. Jenna is a senior at ISU and getting ready for physical therapy grad school next fall.
Paige is Keith's sister. I knew and hung out with Paige before I knew Keith because we played softball together in high school. Whenever I am with her, I have a great time! I love being around the Pedersen family, and many times it is because Paige is there and I have so much fun when I am with her. Ever since Keith and I started dating, she has been like a sister to me and I cannot wait until I really get to call her my sister :) I am so glad that she agreed to be a bridesmaid and part of the wedding party! Paige is living in Scottsdale, Arizona and is working for LifeLock.
Becky moved to Jefferson in 4th grade and we grew up together as well. We became better friends in high school and I still consider her one of my best friends! There is definitely never a dull momment around Becky! Some of my favorite memories with her include our trip to the water park, girl nights at her house in high school, various trips to Iowa City, etc. I will never forget all the good times with her. I am thrilled to have Beck in my wedding party and for her to help me plan the wedding! She is currently a senior at University of Iowa in the nursing program.
Amanda and I also grew up together in Jefferson. I did not become real close to her until our last couple years of high school and better late than never! Amanda is such a fun person to be around and there is always laughter when I am with her! I am so glad that she is going to be apart of my wedding party and we are growing closer to each other each and every day. I thank God every day for such an amazing friend! I am also excited because Amanda is moving to Des Moines this January to attend Mercy College of Health Sciences with me. She is currently attending nursing school in Rochester, Minnesota.
Wow, I don't even know where to start with this one! Trista and I have been friends for a long time. Our moms claimed that we played together when we were really young and we didn't get along! Well that has all changed now. Trista and I grew up playing sports together throughout middle and high school. We grew so close during all this that we didn't even care that we were pretty even in about everything, and it never became competitive :) Even though we were so close in high school, I think that our friendship has grown even more throughout college. I love Trista to death and I am so excited to have her apart of my big day! She is currently a senior at UNI, preparing for PA school next fall.
Blake and I have been roommates for three years. He was actually a friend of Mary's before I knew him. Blake also goes to Drake Law. He is a soccer player, but we try not to hold that against him. We both share a pretty laid back attitude, but like to argue random points into the ground. All kidding aside, Blake is a guy I can go out to the bar with, study with, or just sit around and watch football with, and always have a good time (except studying, no one has fun studying).
I met Drift on my college visit to Central. I knew we would become friends, because everybody likes Clint, but I didn't know that we would be roommates for 2 years. We played basketball together for 3 years. Drift is currently teaching P.E. in Knoxville and he coaches basketball and football. Now that he isn't playing basketball in Germany, he makes the trip up to see us in West Des Moines every other week or so. Whether it is playing some ball, going on Spring Break, or watching short people gawk at the mall, there is never a bad time to have Clint around.
Zak and I were teammates on the basketball team at Central for the last 4 years and roommates for the last 3. Zak is out in the working world right now, that is when he isn't at every Iowa home game. Z and I have always gotten along well, stemming from our on-the-court relationship of him shooting from 20 feet and me shooting from 2 feet. Some of my favorite memories with Z include all 3 spring break trips, basketball games, and all the great times living together.
Adam has always been my little brother, funny how that works. Ever since he went to Wartburg to play football, he is now my BIG little brother. He is studying to become an actuary when he is not in the weightroom. Adam and I have always enjoyed sitting around and talking about videogames. He has been there to keep me out of trouble, or work a little harder when I used to slack in the sod business.
Reed has always been a good sport, whether it was Paige and I making him do extra chores or Adam and I using him as target practice. Now that he is a senior at Jefferson-Scranton, he is coming into his own. He has been excelling on the football feild as a tight-end and field-goal kicker. He is also looking to have a good year in basketball. Reed has always been there doing whatever his big brothers were doing and it has always been a joy to be able to watch him grow up.
Charlie and I spent a majority of high school in his basement or mine. We grew up together friends as our parents are good friends and we tended to like the same things. Charlie and I have both had one or two scraps as we explored all the world had to offer when were too young to know any better. Everytime we get together we always get to talking of the good memories of camping, Black's pit, or swimming in the pond. Now Charlie is working at the high school in Jefferson and still always up for a little "gravel traveling."
Nelly was my teammate throughout high-school and college. Six years on the court has led to both of us getting along real well off the court. Chris has always loved sports and now that he teaches at Glidden-Ralston, he coaches volleyball, basketball, golf, and baseball. Chris likes to come down to Des Moines and sleep on our couch after the Cyclones games. He is always up for a conversation about sports or maybe a "card game."
Briana is my sister and even though we have been apart for much of our lives, every time that we see each other, it is like the time has never passed! Bri always brings so much excitement with her and I love the time that I do get to spend with her. I could not ask for a better sister, even if we do live miles away from eachother!
Jamie and I didn't meet until about our sophomore year of college at Central. We shared the same major and many classes and became friends instantly! Jamie is so much fun to be around and I will never forget all of our memories together, including Wednesday night wine nights, spring break in Panama City, getting thrown in the shower with clothes on, etc! I cannot imagine my wedding day without her in it! Jamie graduated from Central College in the spring of 2008 and is now living in West Des Moines, right by me :)
Matt and I went to school together for 17 years, Kindergarden-Bachelor Degree. Always an athlete and an ardent sports fan, we have played together on numerous teams through the years and watched coutless Cyclones games. Matt works at ING and lives in Des Moines.
Mike and I have been friends for a long time. My best memory of Mike was his in-depth tour of Greene County. We played on every team together throughout high school and I am glad that he will be an usher in my wedding. Mike just finished up school and is working the electric wires.
Lance and I went to school together at Jefferson-Scanton. We can always drum up some memories when we get together, whether it is of epic breaststroke battles in swimteam, or driving to Florida after senior year. Lance is finishing up college this year to become yet another Hawks fan with a Iowa State degree.
Cole is Keith's cousin and is seven years old. He is the youngest of three and always doing what his older brothers are doing. Cole loves to play all types of sports and enjoys hanging out with his older brothers. He also enjoys helping his grandpa on the farm, wrestling, and being in the first grade. We always look forward to seeing Cole during family functions and he is always keeping everybody entertained!
Carter is seven years old and always on the run. I have known Carter since he was a baby and it has been a blast to watch him grow. Every time that he sees me, the first words out of his mouth are "Where is Keith?" (Used to be..."Where is Teef?"). We are so excited that Carter and his brother will be ring bearers in our wedding! Carter enjoys almost every sport there is, riding his bike, playing video games, wrestling with Keith, and spending time with his brother Jackson and his mom and dad, Deb and Chad.
Jackson will be joining his brother Carter as a ring bearer. Jackson is four years old and always on the go! I have known Jackson since he was a baby as well. I even went to visit him right after he was born. My numerous babysitting jobs have resulted in me knowing Jackson and his brother well. He also enjoys wrestling and playing games with Keith. Jackson enjoys riding the four-wheeler, hitting balls with his dad, getting pushed on the swing set, or basically anything that Carter is doing.
