It was Tuesday, September 16 and Matt, Janelle and Janelle's parents had just gotten back from Morden, where they had picked up their dining room table and chairs for their first house. Everyone helped unload it all from the trucks and into Janelle's parents basement. When they were all done, Matt asked Janelle if she wanted to go for a walk or drive. She agreed and out the door they went. They started driving out of town and Matt asked Janelle where the coolest place she had ever been to look at the stars. Janelle replied saying she had only been in her backyard. Matt proceeded to ask Janelle if she would like to go somewhere cool to look at the stars since it was such a clear night. She of course agreed and they continued driving. They dropped Matt's dads truck off at their house and got into Matt's car. Janelle was getting suspicious at this point but just pushed that to the back of her mind and enjoyed the ride. They drove to one of Matt's dads fields in the Pembina Hills. They got out of the car and Matt got a blanket and his violin out of the car trunk. They walked for a bit on the field until they found a good spot to sit. Janelle sat on the blanket looking at the stars while Matt played his violin for her. He played for awhile and then sat down on the blanket with Janelle. They talked about all kind of things and while they were talking, Janelle kept wondering when the big question was going to come. Matt then told Janelle that he had bought her something for their anniversary. She told him that that was dumb and that he was supposed to be saving money for the house they had bought. He then pulled out a little box, opened it up and asked Janelle to marry him. Janelle of course said yes and had the ring put on her finger. They continued to sit there in awe of what had just happened. Janelle couldn't keep her eyes off of her ring, as she thought it was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen!
