Six distinct peaks of unleashed potential. Two uncrowded mountain areas. And 2,000 acres of back-country in the Slide Brook Basin. It’s no surprise Sugarbush recently ranked #1 in Terrain Variety by SKI magazine and the area was named “Best Ski Town in the East” by Outside Magazine.
Mad River Glen is one of the most unique ski areas in the country, famous for its legendary expert terrain, beautiful and varied beginner and intermediate trails, and, of course, the nation's last surviving single chairlift. The extensive trail system follows the contours of General Stark mountain to a single base area, making it easy for families and friends to ski together. Located in the "snow corner" of New England, Mad River's 250 inches of annual snowfall combine with uncrowded slopes free of snowboarding, and a pristine mountain environment to create a skiing experience like no other.

Carve and weave your way down 1,000 vertical feet on the famous Mad River Rocket Sled. Locally born, this sled steers, floats and stops like no other. Snowshoe up into the scenic Green Mountains, then sled for over a mile with enough twists, turns and drops to truly excite the young at heart. Bragging rights are earned by all that experience this exhilarating adventure.
Most fun thing to do in the winter without having to pay for a lift ticket. Rocket sled down the Lincoln Gap Road. Rent a sled from Clearwater Sports, stop at the Warren Country Store grab a killer sandwich and a thermos of hot chocolate. Drive as far up Lincoln Gap Rd as you can & hike the last mile plus to the top. Have a great lunch & sled on down. It is a 10-15 minute sled ride to the bottom. If that does not make you feel 12 again...nothing will.
Time: 11:00AM to 2:00PM. Price $55.00 per person (includes sleds and snowshoes)
