Nick Name: Big Mike

I was born and raised in a section of New York City called Harlem. At the age of eleven I joined The Boys Choir of Harlem; this is when I really began to sing and experience performing. As a member of The Boys Choir, I was blessed to travel all around the country and the world. I graduated from The Boys Choir and went on to get my B.A from Boston University. This is where I met my best friend Denisha. I come from a HUGE family and we pride ourselves on being a close- tight knit group. My grandmother taught me how to pray when I was 5 and I have been in love with Jesus Christ ever since. I know without a doubt that the structure and respect that we have for one-another was built on her prayers and the way she treated EVERYONE!!!

I am apart of two fraternal organizations: The Order of The Feather Fraternity, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. My strong family/fraternal background has given me the self-confidence and capacity for scholarship and hard work. I am a strong man with conviction and purpose without being overbearing. I have successfully transcended the syndrome of limited plans, limited aspirations and hedonistic orientations and feelings of resignation originating from bitter personal experiences some minority men my age have fallen heir to. I have learned to continually tap into the more successful life chances, and enhance these chances by networking, acquiring traits and skills valued in our society. Being apart of Ahmir (R&B Group) speaks to what hard work can yield.

I work as a Senior Life Success Coach for the Boston Urban Youth Foundation. Denisha has truly help take my ministry with young people to another level. Her perspective is always balanced and well thought out! Baby you mean more to me than the air I breathe and I will ALWAYS value, respect and honor you- not just for all that you add to my life – But just for who you are!
