People enter your life for a season or for a lifetime. Our Wedding party consists of people who have stood the test of time in terms of friendship.
Through the good and the bad, and there have been many "bad" times, they have been there to support us in our journey called life. We love them and thank them for loving us over the years.
I think this pic says it all!
She is destined to be a star. So precious! LOVE HER!
My God-sister is the cutest thing! She always wants to help so she decided to help make breakfast for the family at 6a! woohoo
Crazy Girl from the Soprano section of Inner Strenff Gospel Choooiiiirrrr! She decided to be my friend. We'd (Diana and I) kidnap her for days at a time then she realized how truly awesome we were and never left!
Been a member of 6 Buswell since '04
From the desk of RZA:
I have had the awesome privilege of knowing both the bride and groom as individuals and later as a couple. I actually met Mike during my first BU choir rehearsal! I thought, "who is this big kid with a voice like melted butter on breakfast toast!" Mike and I became quick friends because of our kindred spirits- we both love(d) music, laughter and are both clowns!
The next semester, I met Denisha. I didn't really know her very well and honestly don't remember HOW we became such good friends; it seemed to happen overnight. I suppose it was ordained. One day we didn't know each other, the next day we were inseparable. hehe My friendship to both of these amazing people has grown through the years and I know that my connection to them is intentional and profound. I believe I will be friends with them for eternity... friends that will always love and support you; but TELL YOU THE "TROOF" ABOUT YA JUNK!
Trustworthy people are hard to come by in life. I've been doubly blessed to find them to gracefully fit this description.
Denisha has proven to be "MUH SISTA". She is a faithful friend and has helped (and still does help) me through some of my most dark and difficult times in life. She has never failed to be there for me, even when I wanted to be left alone (which I'm secretly grateful for... but don't privy her to this). Mike is "MY BROHAM". I have seen him grow and walk into his purpose as a man of God and it is an astounding sight to see. I love them both very much and count it an honor to be apart of such an important landmark in their lives.
My hope for them is that they will see this day as JUST THE BEGINNING of the great things to come. The path that is laid before them may not be one of ease, but with Mike, it promises to be one of humor & devotion and with Neesh, one of love & joy. With Christ as their center I KNOW without a doubt that they will be a force to be reckoned with.
*May God bless and keep you both and thank you guys for being faithful friends that are more like family to me!
xoxo,
rl
Red antz and Bachac!
We have been together since the day I was born. Nuff said...no separating!
Din Din is my cousin who I truly consider more like a sister. I grew up with her always there, we did EVERYTHING together. I cherish our friendship and for all intensive purposes, our sisterly bond.
Sooo excited to be an Aunty whoop whoop! yyaayyy Justin!
We lived in the same dorm freshman year of college and then roomed together senior year and decided...let's be friends forever! AGREED!!
Even convinced her to go to grad school with me!
Forever kind of friend
The baby of the 6 Buswell crew who has survived the test of time! Tashiii Wasshhiiii forever!
DENISHA!! It has been what..6 years now! Crazy! I'm so glad that you were one of the amazing people that I met while at BU. Unlike many other friendships where physical distance oftentimes cause relational distance, I have found that we have only grown closer over the years. You are an amazing person with a sweet spirit. Thank you for your listening ear and your words of wisdom over the years. As you embark on this new journey in your life, I'm so happy to be a part of that and you know I got you girl..in whatever you may need. May God bless your marriage with Mike and the many many babies you guys will have together! LOL
Cara is my crazy sister from another mother! We interviewed for grad school together, born 2 days apart, roomed together and went on wild adventures together!
She brings out my crazy adventurous side...but I'm still never going sky-diving with you!
(Not her baby)
Dee and I met while interviewing the same weekend for graduate school. We hit it off immediately and decided to be roommates. Little did she know how much fun she was going to have (with me, not the school part) those next two years! We taught each other new skills—I taught her how to make quick American dinners like casseroles (she was amazed you could fix an entire dinner in a half hour) and she taught me how to make Trini dishes that take all day to cook. She was my fashion consultant and I drug her on outdoors adventures and to the beach all the time! Besides the fun though, we were each other’s emotional support in Florida. We prayed together, laughed til it hurt together, cried together, talked each other out of quitting grad school, and dreamed together. She’s my sister for life. (Pretty sure she’ll be sending their kids to my house for camping trips in the future!)
Takin' it waaayyy back...before cell phones...this is my girl for life! Freshman year of high school, followed by years of track and field. My psychiatrist over the years, true friend till the end!
Congrats on your future wedding pal!

Denisha was half-right in her story of our friendship. While we DID meet in high school (in math class), she neglected to mention that I wasn't a big fan of her back then. She always answered every single question in class! When she and I joined the track team, she made sure to whoop my butt in that too! But it was hard to dislike her, despite being awesome at everything she did because Denisha was (and still is) one of the most down-to-earth people I know. So suffice it to say, Denisha is pretty much wonderwoman. It takes a strong man to take care of a strong woman and I'm ecstatic that Denisha and Mike have found each other. I know that Mike will treat her with the love and respect that she deserves and she will do the same for him.
Denisha joked that I was her psychiatrist over the years, but really it was her great advice that got me to where I am. So thank you Denisha!
Any friend of Mike is a friend of Denisha.
Gaye sneaked into my left ventricle (heart, sorry...the nerd pokes through sometimes) and I love her to pieces! My common sense when dealing with the crazy man I am about to spend forever with.
From Gaye:
My third week at Boston University (BUUUUU!!!) I went to an Umoja Meeting and sat behind Mike and Onaje. Tired from a long day, I yawned and stretched. With the stretch, I accidentally tapped Mike with my foot, but he'll say I kicked him. Little did I know, that slight foot tap was the beginning of life as I know it! I was (and still am) attached to Mike since then. Needless to say, I was very protective of him & wanted to know everything! So when he told me about Denisha, I asked him if he envisioned himself loving her to the best of his ability and he quickly answered: Absolutely. While attending BU, I never got to know the Denisha I've had the pleasure to get to know these past few years. She defines sweet, funny (more like hilarious), and caring. Talk about a true ride or die chick!
Mike loves the foolishness out of you Denisha. It still amazes me every now and then, but then I remember how amazing you are and how you make it so easy for him. I'm so very proud and appreciative of the opportunity to stand and witness the beginning of your lifetime together. You see how long this is? Hide the mic from me at the reception.
My sis-in-law to be!
I love you soo much Kish... You've helped me through alot and have been teaching me about marriage, strength and perseverance. I truly look up to you more than you know.
And I know that God is working it out for your good. LC's story will inspire the nation! Trust AND believe!
He wears a mean pair of shadez!
Mr. GQ for the evening...Mike might actually have some competition :-)
I met Mike on the first day of our freshmen year at BU and we have been tight ever since. As we realized that we were from similar backgrounds, and had similar views and faith, our bond grew stronger. Shortly thereafter, we pledged Alpha together in the Spring of 2000. Mike is truly my brother in every sense of the word, and I am overjoyed that God has brought Denisha into his life. She is a wonderful woman! In fact, she may be slightly out of Mike's league. LOL. In all seriousness, God loves Mike and Denisha and has brought them together according to His divine plan. I pray that God continues to bless both of you!
Not too many people have the privilege of having an older brother that you can really depend on and look up to, but in my case this is definitely what it is. Mike is one of the most caring people you will ever meet
( Still a Thug tho, lol) and it is clear to see this once you really get a chance to spend some time with him. I find myself picking up his mannerisms at times when i least expect it which is scary but also makes me proud. I am very proud of my big bro and will always support him in everything he does. Love you kid!
Mike and I met years ago, always seeing one another from time to time and eventually working together. Today I am more than honored to know him as not only a "good man" but "my brother". I thank God for his strength and devotion to God. His caring heart and total loyalty. I know this will be an excellent illustration of Jesus Christ and His Church.
While there are many memories that I can share to display his joy, his heart and all those things - I'll like to focus on Mike as a "Rider". On March 23rd I suffered from post-surgical complications at home alone. I couldn't breath at all, one of the scariest times of my life. Since it was 2:30 in the morning, I knew everyone was sleep (you know folk don't like to be interrupted while sleeping good lol). The only one I thought to call was Mike (After God of course). Mike immediately jumped up and was at my house within minutes. He rushed me to the hospital which was about 20 minutes from where I lived within about 7 minutes. The cops pulled us over, only to have Mike yell at them and let them know it was an emergency. He then sped off in front of them to get me there. I wound up almost having one of my lungs collapse (too much to talk about here lol). This story not only shows that God provides health, but He also provides true family. He has blessed me with a brother and a friend in Michael McDonald.
Love you bro
PS: remember the price is $128.56 owed for the above description lol
Wow it seems like so long ago that I met you Mike (I know you probably thought I was crazy at first) and I have seen you really grow as a man and person. I am really proud of the man that you have become and admire your resiliency in your endeavors. I appreciate your support to my family while dealing with the difficulties of my son and all your prayers. You have found a fine wife in Denisha and I wish the two of you YEARS of love and success. Continue to grow and stay the course I love you all and when your son gets here I'm gonna make him a QUE
I met Mike in the fall of 2002 after the annual MIT comedy showcase. At that time he was a friend of a friend that I never would have imagined that he would become such a large part of my life and someone I am proud to call my brother, friend and dean. Mike has always been there for me and I truly love & appreciate him for that. Denisha is the perfect compliment to Mike's larger than life personality. She comes off quiet, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth, because she is not afraid to speak her mind and has jokes for days! I'm genuinely happy that they have found each other to complete this step in God's plan. If you continue to keep Him first I am certain that He will continue to bless you as you take your relationship to the next level.
I met Mike 10 years ago during our "journey" together on becoming Alpha's. I remember it was 7 of us in the back of his ford explorer (Mike stays with some Ford Explorer's lol) and he was asked to sing a song to keep "some people" entertained. Mike busted out with Shai's "If I ever fall in love" and sang until we reached our destination lol. Ever since our "journey" we've remained close. There's much to be said about this man of God, but I will say this..Mike is the type of person you NEED in your life! Whether it's an honest opinion, guiding light, support or a quick laugh, he's bound to make an everlasting impression and he'll never steer you wrong. Denisha, although we've never met, you are my sister from another. :-) THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of your special occasion. I am honored and privileged to be here. I love you both and we'll talk soon.
I met Mike somewhere in between my 4th and 5th grade. We attended the Boys Choir of Harlem together, but he was much older than me. At BCH, a lot of the older members would take a younger member underneath their wings, often calling them their "son." We quickly became close as we toured together during our time there. From that moment until this present day, he has always been a father figure in my life. Mike has been and will always continue to be a role model for me. He mentored me through a lot of milestones; High School, College, and Alpha. He is one of the reasons why I am who I am today. I am grateful to have had him for about 14 years of my life, and I am happy to see him find the love of his life. :-)
I met Mike when I was 12 years old attending the Boys Choir of Harlem. Back then, I was a young buck who thought I knew everything and didn't really like authority. Mike was a senior in high school at the time, and quickly adopted me as a lil brother. As the years progressed, Mike taught me valuable lessons that enabled me to persevere through many obstacles that came my way. As a constant mentor, Mike's guidance, intellect, patience, wisdom, and compassion defined who I became as a person. Most importantly, Mike's unconditional love compensates for the pops I never had. Wish you all the best Mike, and I am truly happy you found the love of your life. After meeting Denisha, I can confirm that she is an amazing person, and is the sweetest thing since cherry pie!!!
My big bro Mike! I remember the first time we met was at Denisha's graduation, I'm not sure whether I expected him to stick around or not but I'm glad he did lol. We haven't spent too much time together but each moment has definitely been memorable. His insight and words of wisdom have helped me along my journey in life, and have stuck with me to this day. It makes me happy to see Denisha happy, and I can tell that she is most when they are together. Honestly I wouldn't prefer it any other way. I have a lot of love and respect for you big guy, take care of my little sister. Yahshua bless.
This is my cousin but he's more like my brother! We are very close and I have nothing but love for him! Denisha you are a blessed woman - the boy is focused!
