Are you seriously getting married in a barn?
You betcha! But not just any barn...THE Barn. Not a very inventive name, we know, but it certainly is accurate. Don't worry, though, we promise it's a nice, clean, respectable barn--no sawdust or cows in sight!

Why are you making me drive all the way to Ithaca?
In addition to being a really meaningful place for us as a couple, it is actually a fairly central location for most of our guests. The majority of Emily's family is in and around Pennsylvania, while Mike's relatives are mostly New Englanders. Plus, we figured we could lure college friends into attending with the promise of a nostalgic fall Ithaca weekend.
Basically, we decided that if everyone was going to have to travel, we might as well pick a place we love and travel right along with you. Also, we promise that it's a beautiful drive from pretty much anywhere!

Is my new girlfriend/adopted sister/neighbor/bandmate invited?
Because of the importance of this event in our lives, we really want to be surrounded by the people we love and know best. Although we are undeniably fortunate to have so many loved ones, there wasn't much room to include extra guests.
Due to the size of our venue and our budget, we unfortunately can't accommodate anyone whose name isn't on the invitation. If you feel that we may have unfairly excluded someone important to you who really wants to be there, get in touch and we'll work something out.

How soon should I make my travel arrangements?
As soon as possible! Our hotel blocks have been filling up fast, and the group rate is only guaranteed until the beginning of August.

What should I wear?
Something fun and comfortable! Since it's a daytime wedding, you can leave the tuxes and ballgowns at home...unless that's your typical Saturday morning style, of course! Ithaca weather is notoriously unpredictable, so layers are probably a good idea. Also, the ceremony will be held outside, so don't wear your favorite stiletto heels unless you don't mind getting a little dirt on them.
Michael would also like to make it known that he fully supports the donning of traditional pirate garb.

I am vegetarian/vegan/lactose intolerant/gluten free/etc. Will there be anything I can eat?
Probably, but only if you speak up. Let us know about any dietary issues or restrictions and we will do our best to work something out.
