We are who we are because of the people who have loved us along the way....
Laura is a best friend from Camp Timberline. She is one of the most selfless human beings I know and also happens to be unbelievably hilarious and creative. I lived with her family in Denver for the first 6 months I was out here so she's really become a sister to me. She graduated from Colorado University and now lives with her husband in Seattle, Washington.
Far left in the photo: The oldest of the Fontenot boys. Robby is a coach and a teacher like myself back home in Houston. He got engaged about 3 weeks before Taylor and I...and he's getting married about 3 weeks before us as well. Currently the shortest of the Fontenot brothers :)
Megan is one of my best friends from childhood. We met in the neighborhood swimming pool in middle school when I had a crush on her older brother and we've been great friends through many years. She's absolutely hilarious and so much FUN and also happens to be one of the most genuine people I know.....truly, there is no one like her. She graduated from Auburn University and currently lives in New York City.
Far left in the photo: Mark and I are the closest siblings by age in our family (2 years and 1 day). As you can imagine that brings the biggest rivalry in many ways, but the most shared experiences as well. We were in high school together, college together, at Noah's Ark together, and living in Colorado together. He's responsible for starting the Fontenot Wedding Train that's resulted in 4 weddings in a year and a half. Mark just moved from Colorado to continue working for Young Life at Sharptop Cove in Georgia.
Katie Mo is a best friend from college and also happens to be a sorority sister (Go Pandas!). She is one of the quirkiest, most hilarious people I know and loves the Lord so beautifully and admirably. She lives life with the kind of freedom and grace that anyone would long for. She is all things Colorado and used to live in Beaver Creek so we definitely share that love. Katie currently lives in Atlanta.
Far left in the photo: The youngest of the Fontenot boys. Probably the brother who identifies most with my love for Colorado, the outdoors, the mountains, the rivers, the snow, and the freedom it offers. Currently a Senior at Texas A&M University majoring in Construction Science. I have high hopes that he'll be joining me out in Colorado when he's finished with school.
Warning to all single ladies - Ryan is the only Fontenot boy left untaken...better get it while it's hot!!!
Katie is a graduate of The University of Northern Colorado and is one of my current roommates in Ft. Collins. She is one of the most naturally beautiful and sincerely genuine people I have ever met. We first became friends when I lived in Ft. Collins in 2005 and we dated roommates.....now we're dating roommates AGAIN!! Katie is an ER nurse at the hospital where I work and she is super hard core in all things Colorado.
Jonathan.."Lit" as he's known throughout the West, has been my boy since the first day I showed up at Noah's Ark back in 2002. We were in the same guide class and worked several summers together on the river. We also moved to Denver and lived together in 2004. I was recently in his wedding last summer. Lit currently lives with his wife Melissa in Washington DC, but will have moved to Salt Lake City, Utah by the wedding date.
Jordy is another best friend from Camp Timberline and my ex-roommate in Denver (it's sad, I know). She is a true Texas girl and graduated from Baylor University. It's impossible to hang out with Jordy and not be laughing.....seriously, she can make ANYTHING seem like the time of your life. She is also an extremely deep and encouraging person and thrives on words of affirmation (just like me).....so we love each other well :)
Rooke is another great friend from Noah's (get used to that sentence). He was my small group leader my first summer and his younger brother was also in my guide class. We've never lived in the same state, outside of Noah's, but have been really intentional about visiting each other and keeping in touch the past 5 years. John lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Christi (also from Noah's Ark) where he teaches and coaches as well. As the photo suggests, he has a HUGE man crush on me :)
Stephanie is an actual sister to me! She married my triplet brother Adam in 2007 (after meeting him in college at Georgia Tech) and I couldn't love her more. She is one of the most thoughtful/considerate people ever.....seriously never forgets a birthday, holiday, ANYTHING. She currently lives in New Zealand (jealous!) and I am honored that she will be able to make it home for the wedding.
John is "another great friend from Noah's". We started working together back in 2002 as well. John and I connected right away one day... shoveling rock...and have been close ever since. He was a snowboard instructor with me for a few winters, he's an amazing cook, and he shares my passion for throwing great parties. John comes from an amazing family that allowed me to live with them for my first year in Fort Collins. John's a salesman for US Foods in Denver currently.
Sarah is my best friend from nursing school and fellow adventure/travel buddy. It's impossible for me to have a conversation with Sarah without feeling challenged about the way I'm living and how I'm serving the Lord daily. She has one of the purest and most selfless hearts of anyone I've ever met and she lives with such joy and spontaneity. She works as an ICU nurse in Athens, Georgia where we went to college.
Kenny is once again...from Noah's. He's also my current roommate of a year and a half. He's also got a hot beard...but hands off ladies, he's also taken. Kenny is dating Taylor's roommate, and fellow bridesmaid, Katie. Kenny and I became closer friends when he moved out to Boise, Idaho to work for an outdoor ministry. When he wondered what was next, I had a room opening up and gave him a call. It's been awesome growing together in life (and love) the past year and a half.
Ashton became an instant best friend to me when I lived in Ft. Collins in 2005 and I have found her joy to be completely contagious. We have been through some beautiful life lessons together and become like sisters along the way! Ashton is a friend who knows how to ask the tough questions and doesn't let me settle in anything, EVER. She graduated from Colorado State University and now lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
Jerome does not get the title "great friend from Noah's", but he was originally a friend of a friend from Noah's? We lived together briefly when I lived in Denver, then we both moved away, then I gave him a call when i was looking for another roommate. We've been roommates for 3 straight years now. Jerome is one of the smartest, most original, refreshing, real, and honest human beings I've ever been around. I laugh my hardest when I'm with Jerome.
Ashley is a college roommate and is actually responsible for introducing me to Camp Timberline (of which I am forever indebted). She also met her husband in Colorado and has great passion for this place. It is impossible not to love this girl....she is such a bundle of joy and a light in my life and she carries tremendous zest with her wherever she goes. Her and her husband Burch currently live in Atlanta (but I'm expecting them out this way before long ;)
Charley..."Chuck"...has absolutely nothing to do with Noah's. Charley and I played baseball together in high school. Charley had the greatest arm west of the Mississippi (although his homerun power always ended drastically at the warning track). Charley has been a great friend through the years. He's also one of the few human beings on this earth I've found to be hairier than myself? We have the amazing opportunity to go on a couple of exciting trips each year and get to catch up on life (thanks Bob). He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Brittany and soon to be first child.
