Huge thanks to all our helpful and supportive friends and family members!
Ah, Adam Vine. Seriously, if you've ever met this guy, you know exactly why we asked him to perform our wedding ceremony. He's just that cool. Just wait till he drops some sweet Hebrew on y'all. Nice! We love you, Adam!!
Zen is the twin sister of the bride. She's way into cooking, wine, Mexican food, dancin', making up songs, turtles, and her doggie Cassius. Mike thinks it's hilarious that Zen is going to be his sister-in-law. He thinks it's even more hilarious that her husband, Spencer, will be his brother-in-law. Thanks for standin' up there with me, Zenny!
Leeah (a.k.a. Baby Leeah, Queso Charlie, Baby Magic, Two Drinks Taylor, Baby Laura) is Aspen's younger, cooler, thinner sister. She lives in the frozen tundra of Chicago, but we're hoping she'll wise up and get outta there soon. Leeah is a yoga master and will teach you some awesome stretches if you ask her. She lives for queso. Thanks for comin' out to Big D, Baby Laura!
Dom is Mike's older brother. He is an attorney and a proud Aggie through and through (don't mention UT around him, or he might not be your friend). Dom and his wife, Deanna, have spawned 4 adorable intelligent boys (Dean, Gary, Max, and Lane) all of whom are under the age of 7, and two of whom are identical twins. As you can imagine, Dom is tired. We're glad he was able to make it out to the wedding to party with us! Thanks, Dom!
Spencer is Zen's hubby, Aspen's brother-in-law, and one of Mike's best pals. Mike and Spencer met when they were both theatre nerds at SMU and have been buddies ever since. Spencer is very skilled at rapping, being tall, making really awesome CDs for people, and growing beards. His dog, Cassius, probably loves him more than even Zen does. Then again, Spencer does have quite an effect on people.
Bro is a classy dude. He used to be Zen's roomie in college, god bless him. He's much tidier than Zen could ever hope to be, so we know how hard that was on him. We couldn't think of anyone better to seat Aspen's mom than him. In spite of all this charisma and class, he won't hesitate to tell you that he's way into Warrant, Poison, and has been known to perform in a crazy variety show called "Discount Cruise To Hell". He wears many hats, that Bro. We're so glad you're coming out to see us, Bro!
Aspen's grandmother swears that Heath looks just like John Kennedy, Jr. Aspen asked her grandmother if she was sure about that, and sure enough, she was. Then Aspen brightened Grandmother's day by telling her that Heath ("you know, the one you think looks like John-John?") would have the privelege of seating her at the wedding. She was elated and told Aspen that she might flirt with him, so he needed to watch out.
Aspen hasn't warned Heath yet. Better to just watch.
Dana really should start her own event/wedding planning business. She's really good at this stuff, y'all. She planned her OWN gigantic super fancy formal New York City wedding a few years back without a professional planner! In 2008, she tried her hardest to do EVERYTHING for Zen's wedding, but Zen maintained some control. Aspen, who is lazier than Zen, told Dana "Hey, we're getting married. You're in charge," and Dana just ran with it gleefully. Dana's the one who's making this thing run like a tight ship--she's tellin' us where to be, how to stand, what to say and when to say it. She's pretty much unstoppable. And boy, are we glad. Thanks for all your help, Dana!
Cameron will rock your face off. He's that good. The lucky husband of our Manager of Rehearsal, Cameron has been playing guitar for, like, 43 years or something. He's gonna play some lovely tunes for us during the ceremony, and if you give him enough beers, he might do a live set during the reception. *fingers crossed*
Kevin and Mike have been friends for a really long time. One time, Mike even went as Kev's legal guardian (signed the papers and everything) so the two of them could meet the Models, Inc. stars. Kev's opening up this show with a solid reading by Tom Robbins. Even though he'll be late to rehearsal, he has promised to learn his blocking and not screw it up. We trust him, seeing as how he's the Dallas Theatre scene's DANDY and is really good at that theater stuff.
Good lord, if Diana (seen here with her adopted sister, Leeah) wasn't there to help us with this, we might as well have just conceded to the ultimate failure of the wedding...or at least watched as the bride totally freaked out because there was no way she'd be able to set up all those chairs AND get her hair done! Seriously, Diana was like a machine out there. She made sure everyone and everything was where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there, and did it all with a huge smile and fantastically upbeat attitude. Thank you SOOO much, Miss Diana Rose. We love you!
Weiss (that's him on the left) is the cousin-in-law to the bride and an all around awesome guy. He loves his doggies Lucy and Sophie, his kitty Mona, and his wifey Genie (that's her on the right). He is way into partying VIP style with rock stars (ask him how cool Gavin Rossdale is--he'll tell you all about it), watching Planet Earth on his gigantic flat screen TV, and doing impromptu photo shoots at home. Weiss is an amazing fabulous graphic designer (and photographer) and can get American Apparel t-shirts at cost! Thanks for takin' our pitchers, Weiss!
Jesse is Aspen's cousin and is very skilled in the movie-making area. He scrounged and saved for many, many months and bought a most amazing camera to make movies with. While our wedding may not be the most edgy or artistic endeavor he's ever filmed, we're SO glad he's on board. :) If you're a Hollywood type and you see him lugging that awesome camera of his around the wedding, go up to him and give him a PA job immediately. You won't be sorry.
Ashley Dawson & Boone Jarschke--makers of delicious Pink Cookies for the reception and fried chicken delivery saints.
Dana Jensen--crafter of some 49 paper bag luminarias, which she cut by hand into the wee hours. Also, she ran last minute wedding-related errands with Aspen and talked her off the ledge a few times. Her parents, George and Linda, bought us the cupcakes for our reception as a wedding gift. Yum!
Laura Carroll--Aspen's friend from work who called in a favor at a printer and got her invitations, RSVP cards, and maps printed for FREE!!!
Stephanie Fisher--designer of the most beautiful wedding invitations ever...ours!
