The Proposal
It was Christmas Eve 2009, we were at Buddy's house. Amanda's parents came over to play Santa Claus aka "Ho Ho" for Buddy's neices, which Amanda's dad does every year. Ho Ho was passing out presents to the girls when he passed out a present to Amanda and Buddy. Amanda opened up her present and it was a Dallas Cowboys ornament. Amanda was confused because Buddy likes Dallas Cowboys and Amanda likes the Washington Redskins. So, Amanda's mom says, "Uh Oh, Ho Ho must have messed up!" At this time, Buddy walks across the room and gets down on one knee and opens the ring box, it takes Amanda a few minutes to look at him and realize what's going on, and when she does he says "Will you marry me?" And Amanda loses it, tears, shaking, smiles, everything, along with everyone else in the room. Buddy then pulls her off the couch, puts the ring on her finger and takes her into his arms. The night was perfect.
How we met
We met at the Silver Diner in Chesapeake, VA. Buddy was already working there and was a bus boy/dishwasher. Amanda just got hired and was a waitress. It was August 2005, they both had jsut graduated high school. They had shared a few glances over a few days and Amanda thought he was super cute. One day, she went to the back of the restaurant where Buddy was washing dishes, peeked around the corner and said "HI!! I'M AMANDA!!" Buddy was slightly confused, and said, "Uhh..Hi." And that was it. He asked her out October 1st, and she said no. Then she convinced him to ask her again immediately, he did, and she said yes. They have been together and in love ever since.
