How We Met

How We Met

We met at the most unexpected place possible where everyone knows a person doesn't find a meaningful and lasting relationship....a bar, Sherlocks to be exact. We defied the odds! Growing up, I always heard the concept of "Love at First Sight" but a person never really believes in it... until it happens to them. And the other misconception… that a person could never find love in a bar! At the corner of my eye, I saw him cross the room...and I knew from that moment... he was the one, the one I was going to spend the rest of my life with. We were destined to meet since he knew all the Cambodians I knew growing up... but somehow our paths did not cross until 2005.

The Proposal

The Proposal

It was a regular evening in our new home and life couldn't be any better or could it? I was facing our kitchen counter preparing dinner and staring at the tv. Just a regular day...and all of a sudden, I felt someone behind me and I turned around. Somehow he looked different... he had tears in his eyes. I was silently thinking "What the heck is going on?" In that moment, time stood still. He said the most wonderful things and described what love was to him, to us and ending with the question. He pulled the white box out, opened it, looked at me and smiled, and he finished off by saying "will you marry me?" And of course, I said "YES!" without a doubt, without hesitation to the man whom I adore and love for the rest of my life. The best part was when he put the ring on my finger. Then he lift me up, gave me a bear hug and my leg lifted and did that "leg in the air thing!" Life just got better!

and yes... "he got it at jared!" lol
