Coming to town early? Staying a few extra days? Here are some local attractions that might be fun to check out!
This is Mike's "club". He's been a regular since it opened and knows the owners, Ed & Ren, real well. He's usually found there on Friday evenings after work, enjoying conversation and good cigars with the other "characters" that hang out there.
Atlanta's one and only. Six screens showing the latest from Hollywood as well as drive-in classics on certain occasions. Mike proposed to Meghan here during the "Burt-a-thon", a marathon of Burt Reynolds movies including "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Sharkey's Machine". The free scotch helped a lot.
Atlanta's non-infamous classic restaurant. Like the rest of Atlanta, it's faster-paced than you'd expect for the South. Probably the best chili dogs in the country! Has several locations around town, but the one downtown is the original.
This is the most amazing aquarium I have ever been to. If you have the chance, I totally recommend this as my #1 attraction in Atlanta
A picaresque natural park, slightly infamous as the home to the rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan in 1915. Now, of course, families of all sorts come here to watch the laser show, see the attractions, and just enjoy the majestic view. Has the feel of a national park combined with a Southern tourist attraction without being overdone like, say, Pigeon Forge. An Atlanta landmark that can be seen for miles around. Has the largest bas-relief in the world and they say it's growing one centimeter a year!
This is right next door to the Aquarium.
