The Boy Next Door
It was meant to be.
Eddie and Nancy were assigned to live next door to each other in the dorms freshman year at UC Berkeley. Nancy knew from the very beginning that Eddie was someone special, but didn't realize that he was her someone special until second semester. By then, they were already best of friends and the rest just came naturally. They have been living happily ever after ever since...
Rumored to be an Asian rock star traveling incognito, Eddie had lots of curious onlookers whenever he walked around the freshmen dorms. However, one of those onlookers took a more interactive approach to spectating...
Nancy was a curious young girl that was infatuated with Eddie. Slight in frame --Nancy barely cleared five feet in heels-- and had to get on the tips of her toes to simply peer over the salad section of the dining commons to catch a glimpse of Eddie. Undaunted, she followed Eddie around like a lost puppy.
One day Eddie, startled by a sudden rush of paparrazzi, took several steps backwards without looking. Unfortunately, Nancy had gained confidence in her stalking and was following too closely behind. Eddie tripped over Nancy as he backed up, falling, literally, head over heels. Sprawled across the dorm hallway, Eddie and Nancy made brief eye contact and, in that instant, fell madly in love with each other.
During a romantic stroll along the beach in Half Moon Bay, Eddie stepped on a plastic fork and hurt his foot. :( Being the kind-hearted person that he is, he asked Nancy to dig in the sand to make sure there wasn't something else in the sand that someone else might step on while he tended to his foot.
To her complete surprise, she found a bottle buried in the sand! There was a mysterious note in the bottle, so she opened the bottle and read the note. The note asked Nancy to marry Eddie, and when she looked up, Eddie was on one knee with a gorgeous ring in his hand. It was sweet, romantic, and the best proposal ever! :)
But that's not all...
After celebrating their new engagement and calling their families to share the good news, they decided to grab some lunch before heading home. They drove by a beautiful building and Nancy asked to stop and see it. To her surprise, when they pulled up to the valet, Eddie started pulling bags out of the trunk! This was truly a complete surprise to Nancy!
Eddie had booked a romantic weekend getaway at the Ritz Carlton!!! After celebrating with some snacks and champagne, they went to their room to find beautiful photos and flowers in the room! It was such a thoughtful touch ...
In the evening, they enjoyed their new engagement over a candlelit dinner. And after a wonderful day full of joy and surprises, they returned to their room to yet another surprise that Eddie had prepared! Candles, rose petals, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. What else could a girl ask for?
Needless to say, it was a perfect engagement weekend, and the beginning of their perfect future together! <3
